Two post game thoughts:
The Bo Nix injury highlights why backup QB may be the most important and underrated position in the entire NFL.
I continue to be perplexed why, at this site in particular, the Buffalo Bills garner so much sympathy for their continued failures.
Great QB's are tough to find as it is, then signing them.
Back ups are back. ups for a reason, SF probably has the best back up. in Mac Jones, maybe Buffalo. with Trubisky is next
Other than that how many back ups can you name lol ( Except Dillon Gabriel )
I don't hate Buffalo, I don't even hate the Jets or Miami really,, they are all. irrelevant and simply can't win so. there is no animosity by me towards any of them
Buffalo went to 4 straight super bowls and couldn't cash in, I say the fans deserve one and to sit back and watch the Buffalo. organization waste their best chances under Allen because their management is incompetent does garner some sympathy
Plus the elite backups get expensive fast. If it is someone thats capable of being really good you almost always have to take them in the early rounds. Then they start getting expensive and you have to make a decision like when Rivers was backup for Breese or Rodgers for Farve.
Other than being a caddy for a top golfer backup QB is the best job in sports. You end up making millions to stand on the sidelines and watch football and women still throw themselves at you as an NFL player

i am so sick of teams going for it on 4th down. I hope this trend is short lived
4th and 2 or less analytics tell you to go for it. Play calling is a different story but sports (really all sports) decisions are being run by analytics and I dont think thats going to change
Drake's QB rating was 72.7 points higher than Stroud's (100.7, 28.0)
but Stroud had a higher QBR (21.0, 20.7)
At least those QBR numbers make more sense. Maye with 4 fumbles and Stroud 4 picks.
Maye is just lucky the fumbles don’t count against his passer rating. It does go to show we need more than just passer rating but I’m like Craig I just don’t trust QBR especially since ESPN doesn’t say how it’s computed.

Well, damn. Can’t turn the ball over 5 times and win. Not sure what a catch is any more unless it’s against Buffalo. Same senario last year against KC and it was ruled a catch. Two hands on it. Knee down. Game over. Oh well. Sad to see Nix out so today’s AFC game is a trip to the Super Bowl. Good luck @perkdog
That call - which was 100% right - doesn't matter anyway. Buffalo got away with a game ending penalty in their own end zone.

the sad thing is that we watch these games not truly knowing what a catch is, but here's the ignorant interpretation that we have to live by
for an HC to say after the game that he doesn't understand why that wasn't ruled a catch, the NFL has officially lost its way and needs to do something about it
it's what it's until further notice
He's being emotional and dishonest. He knows exactly why it wasn't a catch and is just protecting his player.
It looks like the Bears have used up their last rabbit’s foot.
Famous last words, my predictions often fail.
For once my prediction was accurate. Rams go to Seattle to lose.

The line of scrimmage was the 14 and Williams threw the ball from around the 41 off his back foot to the corner!!! A nice comeback by Da Bears that fell short, what a day for NFL football.

I didn't want to post anything at the time. But the Bears have to go for 2 to win the game right there. The Bears just completed a "miraculous" 14 yard TD pass. The momentum was there, let it ride and complete another pass for a couple yards.
Stafford is just way too dangerous to risk fooling around with in OT.
How about Denver sign Tim Tebow to play QB next week? Maybe Tebow could throw a sidearm pass again to New England in the playoffs like he did to Pittsburg in January, 2012.
Congrats to Seattle, LA, New England and Denver for advancing to the conference title games.
what in the living hell was DJ Moore doing on that INT
I’d need to look at it again. The way Caleb reacted, he thought Moore was going to keep the route moving towards the sideline.
This game will be remembered for one amazing play, but there were several mistakes. They were costly throughout the game.
my goodness, that chicago game was incredible. I wish it would have gone the other way though. such an entertaining team to watch. I wont soon forget this team. Caleb has ice flowing through his veins.

Hard to argue. Hindsight, ya know? 😉
The "normal" odds of making a 2 point conversion are one in three. That being said, the Bears had the momentum, at home, against a dog tired defense. I think the chances of the Bears making the 2 in that particular situation were strongly in the Bears favor.
I was very surprised when the Bears lined up for an extra point. And BTW, an extra point isn't exactly automatic these days.

At the moment they lined up for the extra point, I thought I was hallucinating.
It really boils down to - Stafford ZERO interceptions, Williams THREE interceptions.
And Ben Johnson not having a killer instinct and going for the 2 pt conversion when his team was all pumped up after that miracle TD.

Watched it a dozen times. The pass was thrown short of the target, presumably Moore. Burden was in the area, too. But, Caleb should have put a little more air under that throw. Moore either catches it or just bats it down in a jump ball with Curl. Oh well. Easy to second guess.
i've watched it a number of times myself. Moore quit on the route -- something he has done many times in the past. he might not have been able to make a diving catch the way Curl did, but then again he might have. at the very least, he could have prevented the INT by running hard through the end of the play. miscommunication, perhaps. but i have an extremely difficult time finding any reason why he shouldn't have been going full bore on a play that could have set them up to win the game.
not the reason they lost, but it's a very hard pill to swallow
Theres a history of Moore not liking Williams. Aside from that Moore had the DB basically beat. If the plan was for Moore to run a candy cane type route thats just a bad play call and design since thats not what he does.
Ball was under thrown and a bad read and theyre saying its miscommunication which there probably was some of
Well on to. Denver for my Pat's, without Nix it's definitely "Easier" for the Pats but no walk. in the park if Denver's D decides to show up and play, I "Like" our chances
Tough loss for Chicago, the magic luck finally ran out, that miracle TD pass to. put it in OT was hilarious, the Rams deserved to lose that game for letting that happen but like I said the magic for Williams and Chicago was bound to end.
They had a great season and Bears fans should be excited for next year
Rams vs Seattle is going to be a massive game, I can't even think of how that is going to play out
And the Buffalo Bills take a GIANT LEAP forward by firing Sean McDermott!!! This guy needed to be swept out a few years ago. Should be interesting to see where he lands and I can only hope that Haslam in Cleveland doesn’t make another stupid move and hire him.

can almost guarantee the Pats' run played a role in the McDermott firing. here they are, a Jarrett Stidham away from making the Super Bowl again, this time without Hoodie or Brady.......before Buffalo gets there once as Josh Allen now enters his 30s

Moving on. I see Seattle/L.A. as a potential all-time great slugfest. So many good players on both sides. Rooting for Puka now. That dude is a beast.
I like the Rams over Hawks.
