that will probably be the most difficult bet you place all year. there were 120 guys in the field and that particular wager required you to pick 3 players out of the 120 who will finish in the top 10. but @ $10 that was definitely a fun dart throw. and to this point a very good one! if you had hit that you definitely would have deserved to be handsomely compensated, and that's why DK was prepared to pay you 48 times what you bet, lol. unfortunately, it's dead because Chris Kirk missed the cut (didn't play well enough over the first two rounds, therefore was eliminated), but to this point it was a great stab because McNealy & Griffin ARE playing well thru 36 holes and are near the top of the leaderboard.

perhaps next time split those 3 guys up -- if you hit just one of them you'd make money

Ok so now I got to root against those guys hitting within the top. 10 lol

It was a blind throw so all. good, thanks for letting me know

Excellent day thus far in NCAA BB - no losers, and caught two spread games in OT. It's a miracle when I catch one OT game, and to catch two is like supernatural. LOL

The only 2 bets I've made today

I almost took SF +7, then almost live bet SF +10.5

But held back, honestly didn't know what to expect from either game today

Gambling Stocks Fall as NFL Predictions Gain on Sportsbooks

.....Kalshi’s partnership with the retail broker Robinhood

.....The analysts say the weekend also marked a milestone, as the Chicago Bears’ comeback win over the Green Bay Packers was Kalshi’s first game to exceed $100 million in trading.

I haven't fully thought thru this Kalshi thing yet. But I'm thinking there could possibly be some tremendous value on horse racing wagers. In a nutshell, on the average, including the breakage, horse racing tracks grab around 20% juice on the win bets. Well there would be no 20% juice factor with Kalchi.

Could make for some very interesting opportunities, in various ways.

i've got the Texans in another teaser @ +10.5 to hopefully close it out

swinging it to that number again and if these two teams score more than 48 i'll be gobsmacked

btw Houston has won 10 games in a row.....haven't read or heard that mentioned anywhere

how about NE 24, Hou 21 and everyone is happy? B)

This was my action yesterday, my buddies were all in on the Pats so I jumped in and unfortunately I cashed out after one of Mayes fumble, I had a little profit to gain so I took it, I sincerely thought they were going to give that game away.

The Under bet for Rams/Bears was pretty easy non sweat but it did get interesting when it went into OT and would have got destroyed if both teams scored TD's but it cashed

Swung out 18k worth of bets like it was cool, he is worth about 10 million so he can swing it lol

    very nice perk

and very, very nice perk's friend lol

the Boutte one-hander in the end zone destroyed my teasers. had he not made that miraculous catch i probably would have covered and won both. such is life in gambling.

the only pleasant surprise from yesterday was Hideki making a birdie on his final two holes to finish inside the top 20. which offset the other golf bet i lost. :D

Even for a guy worth 10 mil, that's still not a bad hit.

But why the 9k bets? Why not just make it an even 10k? Lemme guess, his favorite player is Ted Williams? 😊

Quickly looking at the opening lines. The Patriots at -5.5 seems about right to me.

However the Seahawks at -2.5 seems a bit off. I was figuring around -4 or -4.5, maybe even -5?

I'll have to take a closer look at it later in the week.

I'm not gonna say Miami can't win tonight's game. But they're going to need Mendoza to make mistakes. The problem is this kid doesn't make many mistakes, only six picks all season.

If Mendoza makes a miscue or two, running back fumbles, or whatever, Miami could cover or even win the game. But of course those mistakes could happen to Miami as well. Basically impossible to accurately predict how college players will react in a huge game like this. They themselves don't even know until they get out there.

Miami at +7.5 isn't a bad play especially if there is a profit boost involved. Just hope the Miami players play sound football, and they've got a chance. If not, I think this game has the potential to get ugly.

If I'm able to run my balance up higher, at that point I do intend to increase the bet size.

I'm not saying the game is over, but ya just can't miss that field goal in a situation like this.

Nothing really jumping out at me for any live prop possibilities? I'd have to think the scoring might increase in the second half. I'll have to take a look at the current O/U, perhaps an over might be in order, but I probably won't do it.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,490 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Current O/U is 30.5

Just looks like too much of a coin flip to me, so I'll pass.

Nice to see your Patriots back in the hunt.

Like or dislike Robert Kraft personally. One thing everyone should agree on, the guy loves to win, and will do what it takes to win. Sure, all sports team owners want to win, but in my opinion the majority of them won't do what it takes to win.

Kraft reminds me of the Eagles owner Jeff Lurie in that regard. Lurie loves to win and does what it takes to win. I'm thankful for that especially because in Philly sports history, there has been too many owners who only went thru the motions, not really caring about the team's success or the fans, as long as it made money.

That blocked punt for a TD sort of sealed it. But credit where credit is die, Miami didn't quit and gave it their all. They left nothing on the field.

Some interesting dynamics going on in the upcoming Patriots game. Of course the QB starter went down for the Broncos. So a "veteran" backup QB will be in there.

On paper it looks like a lock for the Patriots, with this dismal career 8 TD's and 8 picks Denver guy. But frankly, I'd rather have a guy like this come in, than a rookie QB just drafted. I've seen guys before like this come in, and they can step up and win. Before after a game or two reverting back to their old form which made them career backups to begin with. For example, Nick Foles did that with the Eagles when winning the Eagles first Super Bowl.

Another factor is football defenses usually step-up, and play better, for at least a game or two when the starting QB goes down.

Also this isn't exactly a seasoned Patriots team. These type of teams usually don't win a Super Bowl.

The under looks interesting, but seems too easy at 42.5 which worries me. When a prop seems too easy to hit, it too often doesn't.

Well that's my award winning NFL football analysis. Which is how I won the coveted "Grain of Sand" handicapping award some years ago. šŸ˜‚

fellas i believe @BLUEJAYWAY to be a better golf handicapper than i am, so it might not be a bad idea to rattle his cage

i'm still ruminating, but i'm definitely sticking two T20 bets in

perk if you're doing another 3-dudes T10 parlay, i'd definitely include Scheffler

i'll post my picks this evening
