OSU hasn’t won a National Championship since 2024! It’s 2026. That’s fourteen years for dogs so let’s think about how this is affecting them before we blow off the failure that is OSU. I just want to talk college football but some people can’t or won’t and all they want to do is talk about the SEC and the Rose Bowl. Interesting tidbits for the game. At least interesting to me.
1. It is the first time a Nike school is not in the playoff. Both schools are Adidas.
2. Brockemeyer transferred to Miami from Indiana. He is Miami's starting center.
3. We know that Mendoza, not only wasn't offered by Miami, but Manny Diaz at the time didn't even want to save him a preferred walk-on spot.
4. Both starting CB's for Indiana are from Miami. Ponds, who is a star, was not offered by Miami either.
5. Mendoza shredded Miami's defense last year, but this definitely is not the same defense.
6. Does Gameday bring Corso back for the game?
Miami needs to play a much cleaner game to beat Indiana. Galaxy made a comment does Miami want Indiana, and the answer is yes. To be the man you have to beat the man. Watch Cristobal bring the team out on the field. His team is confident that they can beat anyone. Will that happen, we will see. I'm too lazy to find the pic, but Lanning looked like he shat himself before ran out of the tunnel. He looked defeated before the game begun.
Miami should have better success getting to Mendoza unlike Chambliss who is tough to contain. If Indiana doesn't hold the ball too long, and gets the ball out quickly it could limit the pass rush. The run game will be the key, and Miami is tough against the run unless they are undisciplined in their gaps, which led to Lacy's 72 yard run. Next can Miami stop their passing attack? The pressure needs to get home, because Miami is banged up on the back end, plus have a key CB out for the first half for targeting.
On the offense side can Miami run the ball as affectively as they have all the playoffs? Miami's offensive line vs Indiana's defensive line is strength on strength, so this will be a key factor. Next, Beck proved he can win a game through the air. However, will he continue this mistake free decision making? A clean game for Miami with no short fields for Indiana is crucial.
Finally, Perkdog you hate Miami, I hate the Patriots, but we both like cash. Miami -7 1/2 that's a lot for a home game, and yes Miami fans show up for a big game. Who you got?

Fair enough, so long as you consider that this is not the same Indiana offense and that it isn’t the same Mendoza. Time will show us which changed.
Totally agree, which is why the pass rush has to affect Mendoza. The greatest QB's of all-time do not like D-Linemen hanging all over them, or getting knocked down over and over. If the pass rush gets home, Indiana will still score, but not at will like they did on Oregon.

I think it's going to be a good game. Indiana needs to get the Hemby and Black rolling early to slow down the Miami DL. Part of the reason why they werent getting home like they usually do is the Ole Miss QB can run a bunch and their OC who was allowed to stay till the end of the season is one of if not the best in the country. :acey is a;so a stud and brok an almost 80 yard run. You know what’s funny is how OSU couldn’t even win a game in the playoffs. Talk about a terrible team. Even Ole Miss won a game. I went back and looked at the box score and he had one tackle. zero sacks. his stud teammate, Mesidor, didnt do much more. no sacks, 4 tackles. but i'll cut him some slack because he hurt his arm.
Ole Miss put up 400 yards & 27 points on them. granted, the Rebels are high octane. but there is no drop-off in the next game. this time it's against a well-oiled machine. if those two dudes & their cohorts don't step it up against Indiana, they're going to come in second place

I think it's going to be a good game. Indiana needs to get the Hemby and Black rolling early to slow down the Miami DL. I like when Indiana moves Ponds around - vs. sticking him to Smith for example, but I get that one too. I think he's actually best when he's lined up against slot receivers because of his size. Expecting a good game.
Part of the reason why they werent getting home like they usually do is the Ole Miss QB can run a bunch and their OC who was allowed to stay till the end of the season is one of if not the best in the country. :acey is a;so a stud and brok an almost 80 yard run. Per that larger format for the CFP, I think the SEC is content with having 5 of 12 and not having more competition for their already weak teams in the playoff. The Bowl season really exposed them.
