I don't think anyone else has started a thread for the month, but I'll start it off with my upgrade to the 1961 set. It came in the mail today from the authenticator:

Awesome card.
1951 Wheaties Premium Photos F - Larry ‘Yogi’ Berra

Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?

Got this one back from the authenticator today. This was a classic card that I remember from my childhood.

Whoa. That Brett is NICE. Great one.
Picked up some mid-grade 56's that I've always wanted to own!
Awesome batch of 56’s - love the eye appeal!
I was looking at that same Mantle myself - beautiful card!
2nd Aaron Re-holder of the '62 and '63 order...... Purchased in a Greg Bussineau auction eons ago... I think he used to be with either Memory Lane or Mile High Card Co. before going on his own... I could be mistaken~ my "Memory Lane" is narrowing.
yowza thats a sharp 62 Aaron. It might even still be an 8 today
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
Not even a minute do I buy the whole buh buh buh I'm a man-child japery - Me (2025)
Beautiful ‘62 Aaron! Do you have a ‘62 Mays or Mantle in the same grade?? And Greg Bussineau is a name from the past…
I did some business with Greg as early as 1992 - met him at the National. He did have a few different companies as advertised in SCD - here's a list - I have no recollection of him associating with any big AH's?
Superior Sportscard — Bussineau’s early business, founded ~1982.
Superior Sports Auctions — spun out in 1996.
Collectors Universe / Greg Bussineau — Superior Sports Auctions was sold to Collectors Universe in 1999; Bussineau stayed on for a few years to run the business, then left to form Legacy Sports Rarities in the early 2000s.
Legacy Sports Rarities — his auction company focused on high-end vintage cards and memorabilia.
I can't find anything active right now? BTW - I found him to be about as affable a dealer as one would expect.
A POP 8 of the gunslinger
I'm six cards off the collegiate 1000 stripe set and, of course, this is one of the six I'm missing. Awesome card!
I picked this up from Probstein - came today and it's definitely authentic - screw down with Balfour on back.
1957 Braves World Series Press Pin - I'm sure many thought the Yanks would win this one?
I got a couple of rare 1981 MSA Discs corrected by PSA to reflect "Sample" that is stamped on the back. Both of these are the only ones graded for both Bench and Seaver.

my goodness that Aaron is sharp
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Hi Mike! you mentioned Superior Sports Auctions. I had totally forgotten about them. I used to get their catalogs back in the late 90s. They had some fantastic ones (in fact, i still have a few of them kicking around here) Do you remember what happened with them? I vaguely remember them getting sold to Collectors Universe and then I lost track.
I remember just loving when those awesome catalogs would come in the mail!!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Agreed on that '62 Aaron. Stunning!
Happy New Year buddy!
Not really David. I have a catalog somewhere also and a letter he sent where you could subscribe to a source for investment. I did copy it and was planning on my continuing thread to talk about investment talk back in the early 90s. Like remember when people were buying up cases of 1990 Donruss thinking it would fund their future vacation home?
I had a chance to pick one up and with a pop of 22, I don't know when one would come around again.
Sweet Fernando! Wow.
Honey Baked.
A few 1971 OPC high numbers for the set build. Fresh out of the mail box! As nice as any '71 OPCs that are gonna find their way into my set:

Good mail day today:

With high grade vintage being a struggle, back to the 90's shiny stuff.....
Nothing glorious but it does bring my Poor but Mighty HOF set up to 100% .
3,630 career hits ~ 1,815 at home, 1,815 on the road....how is that even possible?
Card show pickup. Final piece for my '33 Goudey Cubs set.
Congrats on completing the '33 Goudey Cubs!
Congrats on completing the ‘33 Goudey Cubs set! I am a big fan of the iconic 1933 Goudey cards…
Thank you! (and BaltimoreYankee). Took about 2 years, finding mid- to low grade with the eye appeal I wanted, within my budget. Had a great time learning about the set and the hunt of course.
It is always the thrill of the hunt. Once the set is complete, it is sort of a letdown.
Some HOF first cards

That's a big congratulations on finishing the run - how many cards was that?
Thank you! There are 17 Cubs. 4 are Hall of Famers (Cuyler, Grimes, Hartnett, and Herman).
I have all but 2 in SGC holders. Will probably send them in so the set matches. Grades range from 1.5 to 4.
Just got this for a relative's birthday who is recently back in the hobby. A 1986 Topps Baseball rack box BBCE from a sealed case.
Can never have too many of these babies. Think this gives me about 12.

Base topps rookie, short print.
Building a 75 set in 2026. Plan is to get ~600 higher end raw and the top 60 cards graded. Likely nice 6's for Brett, Yount, Ryan and Aaron and 8-9 for the other HOFers.
Your cards look great. I'm also collecting the set. I'm doing all 8's and 9's and hope to have it completed by 2030. I have about 35 percent of the set completed. My goal is to get 9's for the four HOF rookies.
Kinda bridges the December Holiday and January of this year, so not exactly New Years acquisitions. Presented as part of my on-going effort to consolidate my collection into a "SHOEBOX" to bequeath to my son as part of my estate. Lots of $100 and $200 and $300 dollar cards (Sold thru 4SC Consignments) went into these purchases.
Still have one more consignment lot to unload to 4SC - and as always, looking for the next "find" for the "BOX" to help distinguish the collection.....

Absolute blazers on Bench and Schmidt. Great eye appeal!
Gorgeous rookies!
That's one of the nicest Ron Cey cards I've ever seen.
I like your focus - best of luck.

A couple of recent additions.

Is that tape or tape residue across the card?
Upgrade to my 61 set:

I'm glad I collect some of these obscure sets . I collected some of these card sets back when I was going thru some trying times . I still have my original raw set .
