What was the final outcome of the (10) ? coins that was sent to the mint for verification ?

I never heard the final ruling ?

    The Langbords lost that case, appealed and ultimately denied by the Supreme Court in 2017.

    Here is the final en banc ruling of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit:

    This supersedes the opinion of the three judge panel that initially heard the appeal. As stated, SCOTUS denied review.

    The more likely scenario would be for the government to sell them and then keep the profits.

    They are held at the US Bullion Depository at Fort Knox.

    Why 9 of the 10 coins are not in a vault outside of the US is hard to understand. One, I would have sent to the mint for verification.

    What I heard was that the government would bring one or more to big shows and show them to collectors.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Yes, they were gloating about having "recovered" them.
