Loved Eric Davis as a kid. This was one of my favorite cards of his. Mine was creased in all corners, but it still stood on top of my pile of cards that were on my dresser. Just thought (still do) that this was a such a cool card.
Slowly reacquiring some of my favorite Eric Davis cards as I go.
One of my all time favorites too! His 1985 Fleer, 1986 Donruss and 1986 Topps are like works of art to me. Congrats on the great pickup!
Not a card but I did use proceeds from the sale of my collection to buy this a couple weeks ago. It's a 2023 Mustang Shelby Centennial Edition. One of 100 built. One of three this color. It had 1068 miles on it when I picked it up.

Just wow James - like the color too.
Plan on using it as a driver? Low mileage -- it's practically a trailer queen.
Congratulations buddy.
This one won't get driven much. I want to keep the miles low because it is considered a collector car. I've put 300 miles on it since buying it. I have other toys to drive if I want to play around.

Is that a Hellcat - and what's the Beaumont? Looks like a Chevy? Never saw that before.

It is a 2020 Hellcat Redeye Widebody. I bought it this past May. it had 4310 miles on it when I got it.
The Beaumont is a Canadian built car based on the Chevelle. They could not be sold in the US. It is a 1968 Beaumont SD396. SD is Sport Deluxe. It is similar to the 1968 Chevelle SS. There were over 60,000 68 Chevelle SSs built. There were only 702 Beaumont SD396s built. It is estimated that somewhere between 70 and 100 still exist and most of those are still in Canada. My guess is that there are 15 or so in the US. I have owned it for almost 23 years. The original engine was gone when I got the car. It now has a built 427 with 543 horsepower.
The horsepower in the three cars are Mustang 750, Beaumont 543 and Challenger 797.

Sweet rides Heat! We are going to change your handle to Ricky Bobby with all of that muscle 😉
Like I have mentioned before, my son got me into non-sport a few years ago and it has been a blast exploring a new area of the hobby. I picked up a few boxes of 1980 Topps Movie BBCE boxes. Personally I think they are a good value considering how popular some of these franchises are and the comparatively lower print run compared to sports. A lot of the boxes are X out since I assume once the movie was done, the retailers must have dumped them back to Topps. Personally I avoid those boxes since the artwork on the cover is so important to the box look.

Wow, that Musial photo is in nice shape! Aren’t they usually way worse than that?
Thank you very much, that’s very nice of you to say.
Merry Christmas Eve!
Yes, the vast majority definitely look ‘handled’ but every so often a sharp copy does surface, as evidenced by a handful of cards that have graded 7 or better on the PSA Population Report.

I remember a few years ago you posted the populations and at that time the only PSA 8s were two Mantles and a Berra. Has that changed?

There’s about 100 new examples on the pop report since I first started on these boards. Theres five cards total above the grade of Near Mint: there’s a Mantle ten, two Mantle nines, a Mantle 8 and a Berra 8.
Current set pops by grade…

This card was won in a Facebook raffle/razz a few years ago and since I already had a PSA graded 4, 7, and 8, I decided to get it signed and just got it back a few weeks ago. This was actually my first TTM since I was 10. Really happy with this one. I won the unsigned card for $10 and have $85 total in signature fees between Jerry and Nolan.
Just won this today. IMO it makes no sense that a card like this - Hall of Famer in Mint condition that is 46 years old - is only worth about $50. Yes I know all about supply and demand but to think some modern cards can be worth 10 X the amount makes zero sense to me. There was probably a million cards produced for Carlton this year but there's less than 350 graded 9 or 10.
When I go to conventions I look for cards like this - 1970-1979 PSA 9's and if I'm lucky I will find 5-6 for sale.
Agree - it's a very nice value for $50. There are a lot of examples like this of these HOFers but secondary stars in terms of popularity. Some are them are even all time greats - many from the 60's - but the card values haven't ever matched the quality of the player careers.

Agreed.
That sure is a nice 7, great pickup.
I picked up this Brian Piccolo postcard from Heritage a few weeks ago

Nice car! I like the color, too. My MR2 was teal (aquamarine pearl)…

That thing rocks

Seems like JFKheat checks the pop report for short print cars!

A day early, but Santa helped me with my Goudey team set!
A couple of new ARODs

Exceedingly difficult to find in high grade, the centering of this card made it irresistible. Merry Christmas!
You pick them up from Nate ??
Yes
Wanted a 3rd but didn’t work out
Show Kareem some love and give him a sleeve too! Nice pull on the Magic 🙂
The color on those is just amazing. All so beautiful.
Finishing off my late 70's Ryans

Found this recently graded Ryan I liked...
Nice Nolan! That definitely feels undergraded.

It could easily be an 8 tomorrow. PSA is quite inconsistent.
