Loved Eric Davis as a kid. This was one of my favorite cards of his. Mine was creased in all corners, but it still stood on top of my pile of cards that were on my dresser. Just thought (still do) that this was a such a cool card.

Slowly reacquiring some of my favorite Eric Davis cards as I go.

One of my all time favorites too! His 1985 Fleer, 1986 Donruss and 1986 Topps are like works of art to me. Congrats on the great pickup!

Just wow James - like the color too.

Plan on using it as a driver? Low mileage -- it's practically a trailer queen.

    Congratulations buddy.

This one won't get driven much. I want to keep the miles low because it is considered a collector car. I've put 300 miles on it since buying it. I have other toys to drive if I want to play around.

Is that a Hellcat - and what's the Beaumont? Looks like a Chevy? Never saw that before.

    James…

Nice car! I like the color, too. My MR2 was teal (aquamarine pearl)…

It is a 2020 Hellcat Redeye Widebody. I bought it this past May. it had 4310 miles on it when I got it.

The Beaumont is a Canadian built car based on the Chevelle. They could not be sold in the US. It is a 1968 Beaumont SD396. SD is Sport Deluxe. It is similar to the 1968 Chevelle SS. There were over 60,000 68 Chevelle SSs built. There were only 702 Beaumont SD396s built. It is estimated that somewhere between 70 and 100 still exist and most of those are still in Canada. My guess is that there are 15 or so in the US. I have owned it for almost 23 years. The original engine was gone when I got the car. It now has a built 427 with 543 horsepower.

The horsepower in the three cars are Mustang 750, Beaumont 543 and Challenger 797.

Wow, that Musial photo is in nice shape! Aren’t they usually way worse than that?

Thank you very much, that’s very nice of you to say.

    Merry Christmas Eve!

Yes, the vast majority definitely look ‘handled’ but every so often a sharp copy does surface, as evidenced by a handful of cards that have graded 7 or better on the PSA Population Report.

I remember a few years ago you posted the populations and at that time the only PSA 8s were two Mantles and a Berra. Has that changed?

There’s about 100 new examples on the pop report since I first started on these boards. Theres five cards total above the grade of Near Mint: there’s a Mantle ten, two Mantle nines, a Mantle 8 and a Berra 8.

    Current set pops by grade…

It could easily be an 8 tomorrow. PSA is quite inconsistent.

Agree - it's a very nice value for $50. There are a lot of examples like this of these HOFers but secondary stars in terms of popularity. Some are them are even all time greats - many from the 60's - but the card values haven't ever matched the quality of the player careers.
