I'm selling for personal reasons, prices have been good to me. Proceeds go right into leveraged silver ETFs which offer instant liquidation.

The price of silver is discordant. If it rationalizes ETF's are virtually certain to default possibly leaving you holding the bag. So long as silver only goes up a dollar a day ETFD's are fine. If it spikes higher than a lot of p[aper silver evaporates with the short sellers. What works persists but shorting can't work when discordancy stops.
I watched two videos released today by a coin shop in the TAMPA area and one in OREGON. Interestingly they both mentioned that America the Beautiful 5oz US Mint pcs have started showing up in their stores in quantity. Previously they both hadn't seen them much at all. That's a great indicator that those trying to cash in now are stackers.

About 6 weeks ago, a dealer told me that even ATBs that were certified as MS-69 DMPL could only bring spot, and that was before silver's recent big moves. I didn't ask if he had any to sell.
I knew it would happen.
Vermillion Enterprises - FL report that they had a 1,000 oz .999 bar come into their shop yesterday 12/17. After checking with their refiners, because they don't see bars that big often, they are paying him the same rate for that bar as they are for 1 oz sizes. He was able to pay that walk in 1,000 oz bar at 3 MINUS spot. Not too shabby.

We are in uncharted waters. Three back of spot to the walk in for a chunk is pretty good. IMO. He walked out with 62k ish and undoubtable a gigantic profit. I still wouldn't sell though.

ASE BU (They call RETAIL FRIENDLY) are BUYING spot -1 and SELLING spot +1
Again, pretty solid. Premiums at least with this dealer on ASE's have vanished.

Why? Vermillion shelled out $60 grand and has to make money. Also do you think the refiners work for free, even if there is little work to do with this big bar. Seems a lot of folks here bad mouth shops for trying to earn a living. Will you give me $60K interest free?

They aren't taking that 1k bar and sending it straight to COMEX. It's probably ugly AF. EVEN IF IT ISN'T, it still has to be processed to their end user specs. Humans always want others to do something for nothing.

You understand that leveraged ETFs can vary greatly from a prolonged rise in the underlying index/item...they are really only useful for 1-2 days at most.
yes, "decay" is inherit in both levereaged and inverse (reverse leveraged) ETFs and a steady, constant ETF price, over time, will suffer overall losses. Decay is simply a cost that must be factored in but does not guarantee a loss in a rising price. A few PM ETFs come in both leveraged and inverse flavors with both offering profitable trading when market direction is correctly anticipated. However, profitibility is not limited to only 1-2 days in a constantly rising (or falling) market. The profits gained in such a market far outweigh any small amounts of decay. For example, when held for the past 30 days SLV (silver ETF) price has risen 31.39% while its 2X leveraged version (AGQ), when also held for the same 30 days has gained 67.04%. Leveraged and inverse ETF positions require much oversight and monitoring. The danger lies in holding the position too long after price changes direction and continues to move in that direction.

It's because as the time frame increases, the chances for volatility that increases on the up and downside increases....and while they might net out for a non-leveraged product, the losses and drawdowns can be accentuated to the negative with leverage.
That's why many indices or ETFs are flat or up a bit....but a leveraged ETF will show sizeable losses.
Not sure who or what Vermillion is....but I'm just a bit peeved that the LCSs in my area are now discounting by $6 the price you "get" when they calculate your "junk" silver. Seems arbitrary and came out of nowhere, although I understand the altitude fears as we crossed $50. I just think $6 is excessive and there are ways to hedge any big sales that don't require shafting the Little Guy.

Volatility always increases the spreads, but I expect that both the buy & sell numbers of 90% will start moving above spot pretty soon. No biggie, it's expected.
There will be paper bag holders when they can't roll their futures contracts over because Comex won't deliver. Stay tuned.
