Volatility always increases the spreads, but I expect that both the buy & sell numbers of 90% will start moving above spot pretty soon. No biggie, it's expected.
There will be paper bag holders when they can't roll their futures contracts over because Comex won't deliver. Stay tuned.
if you roll (sell current time, buy new future time) then you aren't taking delivery

Hopefully you are still young. If so, in another 3-4 decades you may be able to get your $$$ back on your recent $80, $70, $60, $50, $40 gutter purchases. (non-inflation adjusted of course). RGDS!

Yes, at $21.78 DCA inflation has eaten me alive on the gutter. Terrible investment I have told you now a hundred times. Thank goodness I know a thing about diversification and it's only a small slice of the pie. A lesson with some absolute tuition. RGDS!

That's funny. I'm very pleased with my total silver position, accumulated since 1998. Very pleased. I'll admit that gold carried me through, but silver is doing exactly what I had always thought it would do.

That's great for you. I was talking to momma about the gutter around 99-00 and we didn't follow through until a few years after that. Glad you did. CNGRTS!

Let's see, Slide the right uptick over the middle uptick and in 7.5 more years
To the Moon...
purpose of the chart was not the highs, but what happens right after the peaks. So while some are dancing over what will happen in 7.5 years others are preparing for what will happen in the next year.
When gold and silver move together, it signals the coming end of fiat money.
Only ASE's and Libertads survive the slab crack out and melt at Vermillion.
Even so, he says buyers to dumpers is still near to 1/1
Check out the carnage!
How do you all interpret the relatively even mix of buyers and sellers in the retail market and does it bear any relationship to what the big boys (banks and governments) are doing?
Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
that is retail. small buyers. they won't break the 5,000 toz each comex when for every seller of 500 ounces gets met with a buyer of a small amount. it wasn't until last week that retail started buying again
i don't think the comex is so close to empty. recently, people were buying from futures and selling to spot at lbma to -replenish =their= vaults-
Most of the retail buyers are buying a few ounces at a time. So if someone unloads 100 oz, and another customer buys an ounce for their stack, we have a nice ratio of 1/1 buyers/sellers with 99 oz headed to the refiner. Also consider this is in Florida, a state that just recently eliminated bullion sales tax that was previously collected on purchases that were not at least $500.

and that is a story of "a small amount"
those 99 ounces pale in comparison to 5 1000 toz bars with 150,000 contracts of open interest
I don't see much connection between what is motivating the retail market vs. what is motivating the big traders. Am I missing something or are they both marching to the beat of different drummers?
Also, in the past (1980) people were lined up to sell with no retail buying. Now there's an even mix. Has social media had an impact on this? Thanks for any insights.

I would never sell unless in huge distress. If it was 1,000 an oz I wouldn't sell unless in distress. Your reading comprehension is HORRIBLE. LOLzz
