So this current Kiffin debacle seems to possibly have found its way to Ohio State, not Kiffin specifically but the fact that there’s nothing in there lace to prevent any Coaches or Schools from talking to any other Schools about coaching positions. Apparently nobody is capable of common sense or scruples, the only thing that drives them is the lure of money and power.
Ohio State receivers coach and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline announced today that he’s taking the HC position at USF. That means it’s entirely probable that ex-OSU OC and LSU HC Chip Kelly could be headed back to the Buckeyes.
It seems to me that unless the NCAA makes some changes, and makes the quickly, that the whole thing may just eat itself. Currently, anyone can go anywhere whenever they want and this season has been really bad, brought it all right into the open. With these ballooning HC salaries and buyouts it’s pretty clear what the problem is - - - money, the love of which is the root.
GREED!!

Looks like the CFP rankings have sort of finalized who will be in/out if that committee sticks to their word and doesn't penalize someone if they lose their Conference Championship game.

OSU and TT have the two legit defenses. OSU hasn’t really faced a top offense so I look forward to seeing how Mendoza can do against their secondary. If there were two teams in the B1G that can match up with strengths on their lines it’s these 2.
Ohio State's defense goes up against one of the best offenses every day in practice.
Pat yourself on the back all you want homer. Mendoza cometh.
You picking the Hoosiers to win?
No. I think OSU has them on both sides of the ball. I would choose OSU if I had to make a pick on that game. It's a good match-up with their lines and this will be the best offense OSU has faced this year. I have nothing invested so I don't have to pretend I know what's going to happen. I kind of want to see OSU lose this game, but I don't think they will.

No they dont. Youre only allowed two practices a week with pads on and teams use their scout teams for the majority of them. Even with pads you are not allowed to hit the QB

I know Michigan isn’t a powerhouse this season but they are well coached, always play good defense, it was a home game for them and there’s that rivalry thing!! Ohio State gave anyone watching an idea of just how good they CAN be.

BYU would be the one I could see happening is TT just proves they have no business playing in the playoffs again. They kinda put themselves in a corner with BYU though over ranking them. Realistically theyre out anyways since the ACC and AAC champ need a guaranteed spot, but if somehow they remove Bama and keep BYU everyone voting should be removed
The SEC and B!G should both have their conference championship contenders in.
Alabama should be in. The only way I could see them being in danger is if they lose badly and BYU wins a tight, well played game. It would need to be strange circumstances to push out Alabama and keep in the two Big 12 teams. The only other thing that could be difficult is with Notre Dame and Miami(Fla), the media keeps talking about that.

It would be an interesting exercise to track this class of players next year and see who leaves.

So what's the overall consensus with Ohio State vs Indiana?
I gave my Input. trying to gather as much chatter on this since I'm devastated I'm going to miss this game due to that stupid party I'm being forced to go to
@perkdog, it should be a good game decided by the team which makes the fewest mistakes, penalties, turnovers, etc. I hope the zebras are fair-minded and don't get too one-sided in what they "see" during the game. The teams are closely matched but but that's from judging them on how they've played so far and what they have each held back in anticipation of this meeting. Indiana has been consistent in what they've done all season, Ohio State leaned heavily on the passing game until their last 2-3-4 games where they started to run more.
Some members might object to this, but Julian Sayin is clearly the better QB. The advantage Mendoza has is in running and that's what Ohio State has to watch out for. If they cover well and leave the middle of the field open he might really hurt them. Looking at Indiana and their pass rush, Ohio State can gash them with shallow crossing patterns and dump-offs to Jackson after he chips. I haven't watched enough of Indiana to know what they're like on deep throws but Ohio State will probably try those early and often. The guy to watch out for is Max Klare. He'll be targeted on some of those crossing routes and if Indiana chooses to double both Smith and Tate he'll be open often.
I expect Indiana to try to run on Ohio State and play in the trenches on both sides will be a big factor in the outcome.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
So what's the overall consensus with Ohio State vs Indiana?
i go back to Ohio St's D. 7.75 on average. let's say Indiana's high-octane O is able to do what every other team on OSU's schedule has not, and that's score more than 16 points. let's say the Hoosiers put up 17 or 20. is their defense solid enough to prevent Ohio St from scoring 3 touchdowns? the only game OSU didn't score more than 21 was against Texas, who has a good defense.
i think it's going to boil down to turnovers, which are the great equalizer. if Indiana coughs it up and gives OSU a short field or two or three, it's going to turn into points. and in order to offset those points, they have to go up against an immovable object.
if Indiana plays clean and the Buckeyes don't, it'll level the playing field. but that's what i think it's going to take to spring the upset. the Bucks are too loaded on both sides of the ball.
Indiana has a shot if their line can give Mendoza time. Mendoza is more polished than Sayin and I think Indiana may have a better WR corps. overall than OSU. We expect Ponds to be covering Smith and that's another exciting match-up to watch, but I think the line play is going to determine this one.
Indiana will be the best offensive unit that OSU has seen this season. I appreciate the confidence of OSU fans. If there are two indisputable truths of Ohioans... it's that they support their football team regardless... and they're pretty frightened of electricity.
Signing day really doesnt mean much anymore. Theres ways you can still leave especially when you havent enrolled.
Plus SoCals class is number 1 because of volume. Three teams behind them had 4 5 stars they had one and a bunch of 3 stars. Most teams have 20 to 30 on a high year. SoCal ran up the ranking with volume where only UNC had more. I am not going to count Airforce because those are very different commitments for the first two years.
That class wont be number 1 before next season starts.
For OSU Indiana, unless Day does Day things OSU is the better team and its not all that close. Indiana is better than last year but OSU is the best team in the conference as they have been the last few years and should win that

Only because so much of the B!G was just flat out bad this year. Their recruiting class is 2 four stars and behind South Dakota State its so bad for them right now. Multiple coaches have already turned that job down and chosen to stay where they are.
Iowa States coach is their new target so we will see what happens there. Florida already has a new coach, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas. even USF. Dosent seem like a job anyone really wants right now

The BIG Ten was great this year not bad. They have 12 teams that are bowl eligible and have the top two teams in the country. Of course Penn State had a bad signing day because they have yet to name a coach and James Franklin stole some commits over to Virginia tech.
The reason why the SEC is no longer the dominate conference is NIL. The schools with the biggest donors are Big ten and Ivy league schools. NIL is the biggest reason why USC had the #1 recruiting class for 2026.

They are fun to watch since nothing else is really on but they really dont mean much in terms of the season when most of the best players arent playing
The Big Ten Championship Game battle between Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza – and the nation’s top two defenses – will likely decide who wins this year’s Heisman Trophy.
More people watched Ohio State beat Michigan than any other game during the 2025 college football regular season.
18.4 million viewers tuned in for the Buckeyes’ 27-9 win over the Wolverines, surpassing Ohio State’s season-opening win over Texas – which drew 16.6 million viewers – for the most-watched college football game this season.
