Should be here today. This is a 1941-D DDO/DDR FS 101/801 though not attributed on slab. A great pick up for my Gold CAC only Merc set. Top Pop (1 of 11) but how many of those 11 are also not attributed. A big thanks to @FlyingAl for seeing it for what it is. I had missed that.

I’m not a Morgan collector and only have one in my collection (93 s) but these were offered to me for cheap. I don’t know anything about VAMs but I figured for what I gots these two for I couldn’t go wrong.
Members I have done business with: Silverman68, jfoot13, GAB, ricman, Smittys, scrapman1077, RyGuy, Connecticoin, Meltdown, VikingDude, Peaceman, Patches and more.

The 1887-S/S VAM-2A is a "Top 100" VAM, so it should have, at least, a little premium for that.
Except this one’s not fraught with the typical problems - clashing, spotting, poor strike, etc. It’s actually exceptional for the grade with nice eye appeal!
So i was able to withdraw from my business account today... already getting scarce and harder to aquire... we'll see how long i can play the game... but I'm thankful I'm up another box...
Purchased these two proof sets from EBay last week. Expecting delivery this Wednesday to Friday.
Needless to say the 1959 half intrigues me, as under the haze it appears to have fully frosted devices on both sides. Removing the haze from that half dollar may make a fantastic early Christmas present.
Due to an illness, my wife and I have put travel on hold, we went to a lot of coin shows all over the country and made vacations around them (we are retired). Soooo, I've been eBay buying . . .
I was fortunate to work in the same Research Center as Vera for 2 years. We had a thing called lunch club where she participated. Everyone had to take their turn preparing meals for everyone else, up to 50 scientists at any given lunch. I remember seeing this senior lady there cooking up a storm, and asked who she was. Someone said 'that’s Vera go look her up’. I did. Oh………. Vera discovered dark matter in the universe at a time where women in science did not have an easy time. Then, at the seminars when an astrophysicist would be speaking, when they were done with their presentation, everyone looked at Vera for the first question. What a star, literally. I was lucky to have been in that Center at that time. Now they have an observatory named after her:
I used to collect this series but never had a 1912-D. I liked the eye appeal of this coin & think it has a good, but not great strike. Plus, it was a good buy. I’ll try & “CAC” it at FUN. I’ll update the post after I get the result.
I picked up this cheap token off of eBay for $15. I really love it. I love the depiction of the Art Deco LA City Hall, and I love the artifact of a bygone era of LA public transit. But I especially love that I saw these Streamline rail cars at the Southern California Railway Museum this past June with my kid. We even rode in one. As I like say to people, a collection doesn't need to cost a lot. It just needs to mean something to you.

Well, it is the missing "I" variety plus you have the best possible depiction outside of maybe Ansel

I don't think CAC accepts stickering submissions at shows any longer. Might want to check beforehand.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Just added a few more classic Commems to my new interest. The Texas has a semi-proof like obverse (to me, anyway).

Just arrived yesterday!

@HillbillyCollector man, that is superb… can I ask where you purchased it?
Purchased? I guess you could say I purchased it. I purchased it from a bank this past week, for a dollar.
