@Desert Moon my friend, those are all gorgeous, but I’d break some safety glass to get at that 1815 quarter!!!

Lucky to own each of these, and each has its own story I remember...............

Oh...thanks for reminding me of my EPIC FAIL at auction with this coin. Grrrr....

When did you pick up this one? Magnificent!

This was last year at CSNS for the 34 in 64. Hey I just outbid you on the 1815, doesn't mean you failed............... My bid was super crazy high, so who would have known??? :o

I'm lucky to have an 1838 CAL. quarter eagle. It's graded AU-55, which looks conservative these days.

Man, I love this coin. Each time you post it, I'm in awe!

I think you mean 1848. Great looking coin with a lot of history! B)

Yeah, you did outbid me but actually I didn't bid at all due to another coin 3 lots later. I couldn't afford both so I only bid on the 1818 which I then LOST. lol Epic Fail!

Love the 1815 and the 1834...nice pick up.

I am thankful for all the coins in my collection.

    Seriously.

As a kid in the early 1960s, I never dreamed I'd be able to buy a coin, much less the wonderful coins I now own. Yes, I have coins that are more "special" than others, but there are too many to pick out. I'd rather just be thankful for all my blessings.

Since you guys were discussing it, it had to go back and look at the quarters in question. Holy geez there were some nice bust quarters in that auction!

Yes there were and I was able to view them in hand. That almost always helps when considering higher bids. Even with that it was an epic FAIL for me. lol

It was one of those one of a kind collections with uber pq bust quarters that just does not come around every decade. I knew the prices would be multiples of so-called price guides and decided I was willing to pay whatever to get the coin. So I did. I was all in and prepared to bid what ever was necessary. Maybe I am the one who failed bc maybe I can never recover my money if I sell. But sure happy to own in either case……………...
