Hey, why not keep going with it, until it stops working.

Perhaps you've discovered the holy grail? If you did, I'm quitting my day job, open an account with DK, play Galaxy's 10 team picks, and peruse the internet for good deals on a new Maserati. 😎

My biggest issue with stupid stuff like that when it comes to Sports betting, and I've thought about it and it's the root of the anger over it with me is there is zero accountability for anyone involved

Not a single person from that SC squad is going to be affected by that meltdown like the guy who had money on SC to win

An "interesting" thing about that bet is I'm surprised the bookie allowed ML wagering on it? And they offered an 11% return on it?

My view on these low percentage ML bets, is they could possibly be profitable. So far, my plays on them have been profitable. Although with the time involved in handicapping these games, I could make more money on the McDonalds night shift. LOL

For example, let's take a game offering a 10% return on a ML bet. The bottom line is you gotta hit 11 out of 10 of these just to break even. If you cannot hit at least around 12 outa 10, you can't make money on it.

Now back to the SC game. I realize this won't make Galaxy feel any better, and that's not the intent because nothing will after a bad beat such as that. I forget the exact post of his after the game, but I think he stated he had read something like in this situation, no team has ever come back from this sort of deficit. Was it around 230 times? Presuming that is true, it would make a 10% return on a bet that hits 230 out of 231 times, one of the best bets in history. Sadly that particular bet was that one time.

Sort of like pocket aces getting cracked heads up by 2,7os. It's nice to get the money in with pocket aces in that situation, and the odds on the SC bet were much better than this. But as we know, pocket aces sometimes get cracked by a much inferior hand. I watched recently on a Youtube video, I think it was from Hustler, some loose cannon whale went all-in with 4,8os in a huge pot. Everyone else folded except of course for the pocket aces. Well the loose cannon gets a 4 on the turn, and spikes a 4 on the river to crack the aces. As Doyle once said, paraphrase, it's not about winning or losing, it's about making the right decisions.

As we know, sometimes a "right decision" doesn't work out. Whether it be poker, sports betting or any walk of life. Perhaps that's what keeps life interesting. There's an old Twilight Zone episode, about a guy who dies. He lived a criminal life, and winds up in heaven because in heaven he wins every bet, every time he plays pool at the break all 15 number balls go in the pockets, he gets every pretty girl, etc. He wins at everything and gets everything. Well he becomes bored chitless, he can't take it any longer, and so he asks St Peter to transfer him to hell. St Peter replies, What makes you think you're not there already?

In the Raiders-Browns game, the line moved from Raiders -3 to -3.5

Not as much as I thought it would move. But I guess one reason is the Raiders stink so bad, the betting public feels that despite Sanders being so green, the game may still be competitive.

"Retirement" - I had to look up the meaning of that word. LOL

Everyone of course has family and friends who are retired, and I always wish them well. For me, I know I'll never retire. I like the action too much, the world of business, etc. Sure it's about the money as well, but to me it's more than just that.

I still enjoy getting new accounts, helping customers with their needs, etc. Even problem solving within the business. Yea sure it's aggravating when something goes wrong, late delivery, damaged merchandise, etc. However when the problem gets solved, I do get a nice sense of satisfaction over it.

When I was younger, I never understood why the wealthy keep working, most of them until the day they die. Well I'm certainly not in the wealthy category, but I do understand now the mentality of wanting to continue to work, even though ya don't need the money.

I always advise those I care about who "retire", to at least stay active with something. Otherwise chances are you'll wind up getting planted sooner than ya wish. An inactive body certainly dies quicker than an active one, too often much quicker.

As most here already know, I'm in my second season, starting again with football season, of trying to figure out how to win money with this computer betting. Last season went pretty well, until late in the NBA season, I hit a brick wall in the playoffs, and stopped doing it.

The beginning of this season is not going nearly as well as the beginning of last season. Take for example that Vermont game last night. I really liked that game, and last season, within the same handicapping and math techniques, I was hitting almost every one of those type of games. However not this season, and Vermont lost by 4 points.

It's like your buddy. Of course he meant well, and wanted you to join in with him on the fun and profit, and that's what good friends do. I'm sure whatever he saw, the same "look" on that game seemed similar if not close to exact of some games in the past that he scored on nicely. Sort of similar to my Vermont play. whereby something that worked well in the past isn't necessarily indicative of what will work well now.

Does that mean that sports betting against the bookies computer is impossible to beat? Maybe. But I haven't given up on it, not yet anyway.

I'm losing track of this because I'm trying to lose track of it. But I've lost, it's either 8 or 9 straight, overtime games. Most of my teams were ML favorites before the game. I don't even wish to do the probability of the math involved in being that unlucky. But I think it's easily over 100,000 to 1.

One wise thing at least I haven't done, is figure I'm due to hit one of these, and plow a big bet on it during the break before the OT begins. I haven't done that a single time. I have learned if something is going bad, whether it's this OT chit or in business, don't throw good money after bad, and don't chase your losses.
