What is driving up the price on the 2025 PCGS Lincoln proof PR70DCAM?

alaura22alaura22 Posts: 3,652 ✭✭✭✭✭

There are over 1800 coins graded PR70DCAM so far in the PCGS pop
And the PCGS value shows $75
But coins are selling for over $200+
Is it all hype?
It's not like it's going to be the LAST Lincoln cent proof coin made
Help me out here
TIA

perhaps the buyers don't know, and don't know the relative mintage

I think it is hype. Last year of issue so many marketers will hawk them at inflated prices.

Regardless of the reason, the coins are currently selling for what they are selling for.

If this is so: "And the PCGS value shows $75"

it would seem that PCGS is not keeping up with reporting the current state of the market.

    Hey Mike,
    I paid 81.56 for my PR70 Lincoln.
This price includeds shipping and state tax.
There might be a new bid selling software in use.
Remember the buyer price snipping software being used to secure a winning bid, maybe it has been modified?
I can win more ASE PR70 coins for far less than I can for a Kennedy in the same grade.
A 2025 Silver Kennedy is no where worth a $500 price even if it is a Limited Edition and advanced release coin.
The only 2025 proof coins in 70 grades that seem to be going at a fair buyer's price, are the quarters, both clad and silver.

    Kennedys are my quest...

Is it certain that there will be proof Lincolns in 2026 and beyond?

I guess the newsw talls them to stock up on them.

    I butchered that spelling:

I guess the news told them to stock up on any 2025 penny.

After reading this thread, I checked my collection, and I had order 4 - 2025 clad Proof sets. I removed the JFK and Abe and sent them both to CACG. Since late spring when they were delivered, I have not even thought about them until now. I have not decided whether I will break another proof set for Abe and send it for grading. I'm kinda leaning to hold and sell one some other day. I also have 3-2025 unopened Unc sets too.
