Im venturing outside of the 7070 registry quest I’ve been on for years now. Here’s a new pickup from recent Richard August Stacks auction. A type that circulated throughout the colonial frontier.
I spent several hours helping an executrix to know what she had for the purpose of dividing a collection four ways.
My evaluation was more to ensure an even split than to put a price on the collection. I did this over several weekends as silver rose sharply.
We ended up with close to $20,000 in silver with a few nicer coins included. I did this for free as this person delivered my sons 26 years ago.
So today she brings my wife the most expensive coin as a thank you, which I really appreciated. I found it in a “roll” with almost a dozen other 38-D walkers. The rolls were repurposed battery tubes from way back.
I do think it’s short of uncirculated but it is nice.
Today marks my 5th year on the forum. This one came in yesterday. Top Pop Gold CAC. The set is coming along well. Several more on the way. It is a set that seems to upset a few, but I am enjoying it.

For right now this 1936D 66FB Gold CAC is the coolest one that I have acquired. It is a Top Pop and a 1 of 1. I have a few that share the top spot but this is a single finest. It is even nicer in hand.

Just arrived. Not great photos but luster shows through the original skin. Mintage of 2100 on the Boone. This was a great find. The Texas has a mintage of 3814. Also a great find in a Rattler.

I added TWO more V nickels to my Registry set. I have been on a hiatus, sort of, but I'm back. I have collected coins seriously for 18 years, but in the past two years, I discovered the wonderful world of paper currency! What a humongous rabbit hole!
Anyway, I added the 1886 (semi-key) and also a 1898 which oddly took me years to locate because I just couldn't find an example that met my standards. Now, I only need the1885 and 1890 to complete the set!
Are we allowed to post currency newps? If so, I got a TON of them, but here are a couple of neat ones;
I just posted a thread about completing my double dime collection, but this is the new purchase that filled the last slot. I snagged it off GC in August without a CAC sticker, and was thrilled to have it return recently from JA with the bean.
