JoeBonzai - one last time as we're on different wave lengths.

Yes, we are. I am NOT a fan of starting rookies unless they have an amazing training camp and there are no veteran players available. McCarthy is still a rookie as he was hurt all of last year. We had 2 options at QB and didn't go after either of them.

Daniel Jones wasn't going to stay. Had he stayed, he would suck behind the decimated o-line - as anyone who has nearly no mobility like him or Wentz. Eaten alive. Plus, Daniel Jones was awful after he signed that contract when he beat the Vikings thanks to a terrible Ed Donatell defense. I was at the game. He was OK. Since then, he was so bad, he was released. We picked him up as a favor. Why in the world would we hand the team over to him? Would have made zero sense.

Jones had 69 starts in the NFL. Makes as much sense as handing the job to Sam Darnold last year. Makes more sense than putting a 21 year old in as a starter......to me.
Jones is doing pretty good this year. I'd rather have a rental QB get "eaten alive" than our potential franchise guy.

JJ McCarthy was not injury prone prior to being drafted. He won nearly every game he started from HS thru college. He has more big game experience and success than Daniel Jones' entire lifetime.

College is not the same as the NFL. High School either. He wasn't injury prone before, but he has been since being drafted.

McCarthy has played 8 quarters of NFL regular-season football and was bad in 87.5% of them. The other 12.5% or one quarter was so good he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week against the Bears in week #1.
>

I wouldn't say he was "bad" in every quarter except the 1. He looked inexperienced to me. He threw some good passes.

By Week #2 versus the Falcons - a game I was at - the offensive line was already decimated. The Falcons blitz the entire game and KOC ran a terrible game plan with zero adjustments in the second half. Only to get him injured again.

KOC is a POOR game time coach. Everyone likes him because he's so NICE. I can't afford to go to the games, but I watch them all. I don't care for KOC AT ALL. But he does seem to be a nice person. I actually liked Mike Zimmer. Spielman screwed Zimmer BIG TIME.

The only off-season QB that would have made any sense to go after was Aaron Rodgers for 1-year to give McCarthy more time. It was reported A-Rod wanted that. KOC and GM/front office didn't want to do that for whatever reason. At least Rodgers has the experience to get rid of the ball as an all-time great.

I didn't want Rodgers. Now, it looks like that might not have been a bad idea.

Looking through the windshield, it's JJ McCarthy time - good or bad for the rest of 2025. He's got 10 games to show us something - same thing goes for Kevin O'Connell who has handled the situation very poorly.

Yes, it's JJ time. It's PAST time to pick up a functioning Center. It's PAST time to put in some pass plays that develop quickly so that the QB can get rid of the ball before getting obliterated.

The Vikings GM and his dipshit sidekick, Grigson are already dead to me. They have botched every draft they've been in. For every decent FA signing there's 2 that are horrible.

I knew it in year 1 when they took a Safety not named Hamilton with their #1 pick. Several publications rated him the best football player in the draft. The Vikings could have had him.
They have made a couple of good moves in free agency, but most have been injury prone guys who have been hurt here too.
I'm hoping Darrisaw's injury heals completely. It should be healed by now. O'Neil needs to be back and healthy as well.
I would promote Brian Flores to Head Coach ASAP.
Other than Addison they don't have one draft pick who's a proven starter.

Horrible play call at the end of the 1st half by the Dolphins. Going for 4th with a bum QB like Tua - take the 3 and be down by 5 at halftime. Now no points and still you're down 8.

Mike McDaniels is going to out analytics himself right out of a job
I didnt realize how young JJ is. Drake just turned 23 in August and he seems super young. JJ is 8 months younger than Maye is.
both are younger than this years number 1 pick Cam Ward. Crazy.
I honestly dont know much about JJ, but the kid needs more than just 2 games before people count him out.
I will add that if he continues to get injured, the Vikes will need to move on though.

Top 5 pick on Left Tackle Matt Kalil didn't work out either. Garrett Bradbury, not good. Laquon Treadwell, oops.
They have some good ones though.
Jefferson, Darrisaw and Addison are good.

Where on earth is Christian Ponder in all of this 🧐
