Two years ago, who would've thought Indiana would have a higher chance at making the playoffs than Alabama?

I hope Indiana and OSU meet for the big 10 championship and are both undefeated

I like Northwestern's chances... .1% (just kidding...) How is it even possible to calculate that?

I really am unable to see Illinois at 15.6%- even if they run the table and finish 10-2, that falls short of what should be expected.

Following along with what seems to be a trend I think there are a few teams which will probably exit the AP Poll Top 10 this weekend:
--- 10LSU vs. 17Vanderbilt, my hunch is that Vandy will prevail.
--- 5Ole Miss vs. 9Georgia, a 2nd home loss will probably have fans calling for Kirby Smart to join James Franklin.
--- 11Tennessee vs. 6Alabama, methinks the 'Tide is rolling out.

I also don't hold much faith in Texas Tech or Oregon but think both teams will win their games. It's funny, but the way this season has played out it is probable that some 2-loss teams will start to show up in the Top 10 and by the time the CFP makes their choice of the 12 playoff teams that it might even include a 3-loss team. I think that NIL and the transfer portal has achieved the NFL dream of parity in the NCAA.

Kirby has multiple national titles, even a loss here wouldnt be close to calling for his job. Both teams are still alive for the playoffs with a loss and yes there is a very good chance a 3 loss team gets in. Clemson got in last year with 3 losses.

LSU has an elite D but needs to make a QB change if Nuss doesnt get his arm strength back soon. Theyre basically relying on being the Flacco Ravens and that will only work for so long.

NIL and the portal has definitely turned what used to be the 800 pound gorilla in the room into more of a 600 pound one with the talent being more spread out

More likely than you might think, the SEC is a shambles right now and any team can beat any team on any Saturday. Ole Miss may actually be the best team in the conference except that it seems to change from week to week.

Just checked in at a sports site I read to find the quote below from one of the Voters in the weekly AP Poll. It shows how clueless those Voters might actually be.

We should really burn all the preseason polls and predictions from the 2025 college football season. As I look back to my preseason College Football Playoff projected bracket, I can only shudder. I predicted that Clemson would beat Penn State in the national championship game. Those teams have combined for six losses and one head coaching change through the first half of the season. Whoops!

If by shambles you mean loaded than yes.

Kirby and Kiffin know each other well, but Ole Miss has been playing with their backup QB all year due to an injury to their starter. Simmons might be back but a first start back at Georgia after missing 4 weeks is a rough way to get back into the mix.

Tennessee would be the more likely upset if you even want to call it that. Both them and Bama have significant injuries that have been ruled out for the game that can throw a wrench in things

I am actually curious how much longer Wisconsin is going to put up with this. They should be better than this and will be 2-6 going into the Washington game that maybe they can win then lose to Indiana the next week.

If OSU vs Wisconsin is a meaningful game OSU has serious problems and you have no faith in them. Thats about as simply as it can be put. Wisconsin very likely will end the season with 4 wins max

I'm called a troll by SEC loyalists but if a team from that conference was ranked 1st in the AP Poll we'd be hearing about their upcoming game, no matter how weak or strong the opponent might be. Every game played by the top ranked team is important and bears watching, no matter who the team is or what conference they represent. Saying otherwise is just a little disingenuous.

OSU is a 26 point favorite against a 2-4 team that is 0-4 and hasnt been competitive once against a power 4 team. Thats not an important game and Day should be fired on the spot if they lose. Fickle is about to get fired and Wisconsin will be 3-7 at best after the next 4 week/

You OSU fans dont seem to have any faith in your team.

@Basebal21 said: That's not an important game................You OSU fans don't seem to have any faith in your team.

We have "faith" in the Buckeyes and always believe they'll prevail, but we also understand how college football is and how easy it can be to lose to an inferior opponent. We also know how a single game can wreck an entire season, that's why each game is so important.

Those facts are pretty clear to Hurricane fans right now after that loss to un-ranked Louisville!!! Those things are also really clear to the players and Head Coach who looked gut-shot after the game. Heisman hopeful Carson Beck took a shot with 0TD's/4 INT's as a stat line, one of those picks in crunch time when he should have been leading his team to the promised land. Looking at the Miami(Fla) schedule it's almost shocking to see that after 6 games they have played 5 at home. That means the rest of the season they actually have to travel as half their remaining games are on the road.

And so the weekend begins with what is another loss by a top "pretender" which will start the weekly changes in the AP Poll top 10. The 'Canes will probably end up around 8-9 after losing rather convincingly to an un-ranked team at home.

@bgr, It's hard to understand what you mean because you try really hard to be obtuse and you have that lingering, bad habit of trolling me that I've PM'd you about. Try this: if you have something to say, just say it. Stop trying to dance around and be cute because it doesn't work for you.

@Basebal21 might be a PITA but at least he knows what he's talking about and adds substance and insight to the thread. You contribute nothing but snarkiness to the discussion. Sorry if that sounds harsh but I have a hard time suffering fools gladly.

Maywood - I think you're taking things way too seriously here.

I fully understand what is going on. It's a train wreck right?

To your (and others) point on college football. Of course every game for top ranked teams is important. It's not even just about getting the win - but that's up in the air more than ever now. To argue it's not you need to change the narrative.

If anyone is trolling you here, it's Basebal21. He is the one who has been redefining the word "important" to mean something very specific. That if you think this particular game between OSU and unranked, and patently terrible, Wisconsin is important then that means you have no faith in OSU. Framing. False Narrative. Mental Illness. Take your pick. He's not a serious person so it's impossible to engage him seriously.

As such... this is the environment we're left with until everyone stops engaging with him and people like him and this is why we can't have nice things.

    As such.

I come here for my daily dose of tangential communication among sports fans who "just wanna talk sports...".

If we get to a point where polite and intelligent discussion occurs here those of us with the ability to conform to that environment will do so. Welcome to online forums.
