As people generally say, subjects concerning politics, money, sex and religion are to be avoided as they tend toward divisiveness in polite company. In terms of aesthetics, this would be up there with the Susan B. Anthony coin.
This subject directly involves a proposed US coin and this is a coin forum.
This also just got posted in response to the wrong reply. So far as the Murray quarter goes I think the design is quite original and like it.

Unfortunately, the law which states requirements for “designs emblematic of the US seniquincentennial” will allow this to happen despite the preceding legislation prohibiting living presidents from being on the nations coinage.
How is this proposed design “emblematic of the U.S. sequincentennial?”
Let's see, I could post about how the current "president" is a malignant narcissist, is ruling not like a leader but a petty tyrant, is just plain brutalizing US cities in horrific fashion, has sent people to other countries for the express purpose of being tortured, has increased taxes on all of us, upped inflation, politicized the administration of justice against his so-called "enemies", sent some states already into recession, is tearing up our health care system and accepts the crudest and cruelest pseudo-science, and much worse...
But PCGS has made it clear that there are some people we must not judge on the content of their character, so I'm just not touching this thread again, even with a 34-decimeter pole.

Between this coin and the 2017 lady liberty coin, I can see a scenario where going forward after Trump is no longer President there are no longer any people, whether it’s dead presidents or lady liberty on a coin. I can easily see a situation like the more recent American Liberty coins where we have horses and sunflowers symbolizing liberty and eagle reverses in lieu of portraying any person whether real or allegorical.
Either way I saw Trump being portrayed on a coin coming the moment he won the Presidency in 2016. If this didn’t happen, then something else would’ve that would’ve been a more fervent push than the push to put Reagan on the dime.
People shouldn't be on coins or bills, but it is way too late for that. Who the is Pauli Murray other than some political statement just like the rest.
I think PCGS should create a whole other category for political coins and medals. This would help to eliminate the politics in the US Coin category. JMO
A coin to honor someone that hates the Constitution, the rule of law and half the country that doesn’t worship him. I find this beyond disgusting and an insult to the country I served proudly for over 20 years. I hope this thread is closed.

“Like our representative government itself, the images chosen to appear on American coins were another statement of difference between the system against which American colonists rebelled and the government for which American citizens would work. England was just one in a long line of civilizations that routinely paid tribute to their current sovereign by engraving his or her portrait onto the coins of the realm. That tradition extended back to the very beginning of coins as medium of exchange. Emperors and kings have always been so honored.”
Lincoln's observations on the celebration of July 4th:
We hold this annual celebration to remind ourselves of all the good done in this process of time, of how it was done and who did it, and how we are historically connected with it; and we go from these meetings in better humor with ourselves — we feel more attached the one to the other, and more firmly bound to the country we inhabit. In every way we; are; better men; in the age, and race, and country in which we live, for these celebrations. But after we have done all this, we have not yet reached the whole.
We; have, besides; these — men descended by blood from our ancestors — those among us, perhaps half our people, who are not descendants at all of these men....
If they look back through this history to trace their connection with those days by blood, they find they have none ; they cannot carry themselves back into that glorious epoch and make themselves feel that they are part of us ; but when they look through that old; Declaration; of Independence, they find that those old; men say that " We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal," and then they feel that that moral sentiment, taught on that day, evidences their relation to those men, that it is the father of all moral principle in them, and that they have a right to claim it as though they were blood of the blood and flesh of the flesh of the men who wrote that Declaration [loud and long-continued applause], and so they are. That is the electric cord in that Declaration; that links the hearts of patriotic and liberty-loving men together, that will link those patriotic hearts as long as the love of freedom exists in the minds of men throughout the world....

For the 250th, it might make sense to put Trump and GW on the obverse. Perhaps with the legend “The Fathers of Our Country”.

When I read a post such as this and the varied comments contained therein I can only add that
On 1-20-2029 the current national nightmare or national resurgence to greatness (depending on one's point of view) will be over.
Another person will occupy the White House and the nation can have someone to idolize or despise.
Rinse and repeat, as the nation and the world continues towards the ultimate destination that is shrouded in mystery at this time.
Now, back to enjoying life, including a coin or two.
