    Possibly dipped and retoned. Heavy dip shadows and that purple color doesn't look NT.

    Looks like an excellent ms64 or a possible ms65.

    The sharply defined pull-away under the date and at top of "UNUM" indicate to me that the toning is original.

    i'm uncomfortable with the purple/blue. the rest looks ok

    It looks market acceptable to me. I wouldn’t be surprised by a QC details grade but that’s not what I’d call it.

    I like the Obv, but the Rev colors throw me off a little. Probably QC for me also.

    Whatever it is I would have dipped it before grading. I dont like the look of it.

    The toning is neutral in my opinion, although the blue on the back looks a bit off.
    I would not have thought 66.

    Fooled me. Although both sides are very clean from marks, the eye appeal is negative, esp. the reverse, for a 66, unless the photo does not do it justice.

    MS66 seems reasonable to me. The toning looks balanced between warm and cool colors, with a bit of uneven lighting making the reverse look more blue. I wonder how many of the QC guesses were affected by the thread title hinting that PCGS deemed the toning artificial.

    Mistakes are natural. But repeated mistakes without reflection are something else. That may be the “stupidity” he was referring to. In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.

    That toning looks much nicer and NT, if asked grade for it would have guessed at least 65, Great looking coin. Would not have guessed dipped on that photo.

    Wow! A world of difference in the photos. But I do like the look of the coin. Especially in the Tru View photos. I would love to see the coin in hand.

    Seems like a gem, which is what a 66 is supposed to be, should wow and pop, creating at least a little excitement with the viewer. The ho hum, if not questionable, toning on this piece is nothing to write home about.

    True view picture is much nicer than the one you originally posted. It actually reminded me of a coin I owned quite awhile back that I kind regret letting go-
