New 1842-O $5 gold. Show your Liberty Gold!

This is a tough date. CAC shows 20 for this date, but only 3 have crossed Heritage, StacksBowers and Great Collections. The date is difficult to find with nice color. The surfaces usually have an issue. I was happy to find one with an original look. CAC seems to care more about color than surfaces.

I’m going to have to take a better picture of this one, I accidently made the lighting too diffuse, but here’s my favorite $5 Liberty Gold piece

And here are a few other of my $5 Gold Liberty pieces that I also like very much 🌞

Nice
An 1842-C, stuck at the FIRST Charlotte Mint. Few people know that there were two Charlotte Mint building. The first one, which had two stories above the basement, like the Dahlonega Mint, was burned when a person who burgled the Director’s residence in the building, set it on fire to cover his tracks. The SECOND Charlotte Mint had only one story above the basement. It was done as a cost cutting move probably to make its replacement more politically palatable.
The 1839 half eagles had the mint mark on the obverse.
Seemed like a good year for buying gold...

Here's mine.

Here is my lone Charlotte gold, and an honest coin IMHO:

Well, just Love coins, period.
Yes. These are few and far between! Your 1842-O is very wholesome. I like it!
