Nice pulls. I opened 3 I think and then decided to go on eBay and try to buy the ones I wished I got and did not. Which was many. 😄 I had to purchase my Jacksons. I love how the team name looks like a hotel vacancy sign. I had not appreciated a Topps design much since the 80s but that one works for me.
Hey all if you are looking to improve a 1971 Topps Hockey Set or are thinking about starting one I have some RIP CARDS coming up for auction in October at Heritage. These came from the VENDING that I shared.
Description:
1971 Topps Hockey High Grade Collection (88). When Topps had a stranglehold on the hobby, one of the accusations they faced was that they were lazy when it came to set designs. The 1971 Hockey release was neither pedestrian nor lazy, it's design is still appreciated after all these years. Offered here is an 88 card collection from that release. These examples offer a fantastic foundation for anyone looking to start and complete this set. A total of 39 cards have been graded by PSA. Includes: PSA GEM MINT 10: 6 cards, #'s 13, 42, 44, 58, 69, 102; PSA MINT 9: 26 cards, #'s 23, 25, 28, 31, 35 Bucyk, 39, 42, 44, 56, 57, 58, 68 (2), 69 (2), 74, 76, 81, 83, 89, 90 Giacomin, 92 (2), 95, 96, 97 Ratelle; PSA NM-MT+ 8.5: 2 cards, #'s 22, 23; PSA NM-MT 8: 4 cards, #'s 11, 82, 103, 112; PSA NM 7: 1 card, #56. These TWO are live on HERITAGE ending this upcoming weekend. Both came from 1962 Cellos that I ripped and shared.
1962 Topps Walt Alston #217 PSA Mint 9 - Pop Three, Only One Higher! Walt Alston, a Hall of Fame manager, led the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers to four World Series titles over an exceptional 23-year tenure. His 1962 Topps card #217 belongs to a set known for its distinctive wood-grain borders and strong representation of baseball's golden era. Graded PSA Mint 9, this high-grade specimen highlights one of the game's most respected managerial figures. One of three graded Mint with one higher.
1962 Topps Robin Roberts #243 PSA Mint 9 - None Higher! Robin Roberts, a dominant pitcher of the 1950s and Hall of Famer, was known for his remarkable control and seven consecutive 20-win seasons with the Phillies. His 1962 Topps card #243 comes from the final stages of his career and is part of a set recognized for its wood-grain border design. Graded PSA Mint 9, this high-grade example stands among the finest known for this veteran legend. One of eight graded Mint with none higher.
Have you decided what you will do with your PSA 10 1962 Topps card? Team set card with Mantle. Just curious I no longer collect sports cards and it would be way more than I could ever afford just wondering what it would sell for. My guess is a LOT of money!!!

Hello - I am keeping the PSA 10 1962 for now. Too hard to part with for now.
Jumped on a FANATICS break last night. There was an open YODA spot at $125 for a 2 CASE BREAK. I was about to offer $100 and someone else had just made a lower offer and received a $100 response back from the MOD. The other person wasn't accepting the $100 so I offered the $100. Out of courtesy the MOD gave the other person a few more minutes and they eventually declined. So I luckily landed the YODA spot.
I ended up hitting a beautiful 1 of 1 Sketch from 2025 Topps Chrome Star Wars.
I was pretty excited considering I was at prime kid age when Star Wars, Return of the Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back first came out.

Double Vision lenticular that switches between the live-action and animated Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: Clone Wars are some of the finest SW storytelling of the last 30 years.
That animated Obi-Wan reminds me of the Clone Wars series immediately. They’re considered canon and part of the official story of Star Wars and added a lot of depth to the prequel trilogy.

I’ve shared these here before on the CU Forums but based on your current rips, I figured you’d probably like seeing these as we’re pretty close in age and for me, they hit many nostalgic notes at once: Empire, candy prices, old school packaging and card collecting. Seeing the box reminded me immediately of the old paper and foil candy bars that were replaced by today’s plastic. But I digress; the last one pictured was acquired last month and I think I still need Krackel for completion. The complete set of five cards were intended to be cut from the package and were available on eight different candy ‘tray’ boxes that were sold in grocery stores way back in 1980.

Just to add, the Ashoka series is in many ways picking up right where Rebels left off…
…and most of those characters have backstories that were well fleshed out. That too was more enjoyable having seen both Rebels and Clone Wars.
The animated shows are fantastic. I loved Rebels and those characters. Seeing them come to life in Asokha was so satisfying. I can't wait for the continuation of that story.

I’m blind, I’m blind!!
How many boxes did you open to pull all these inserts?
Whoever is doing the graphic design on this set REALLY needs a better editor.
Those things hurt my eyes to look at them.
I think it was 5 boxes. I mix of product.
Good hits on just 5 boxes congrats!!!

Hello - I am keeping the PSA 10 1962 for now. Too hard to part with for now.
Switching gears to some NON SPORTS.
The past couple weeks I tried some 2025 Topps Chrome Star Wars group breaks on Fanatics.
During the breaks I chose Characters or Groupings I was interested in. I was never in time to snag a VADER spot.
Just sharing the "keepers". Others I plan to part with.
UFFAH
Got my 1978 Basketball vending box today. I’m going to open it tomorrow!
Awesome!! I hope you hit some good ones!!!
Some very nice pulls (Star Wars)!!!
Wow, how many breaks did you go in on? Those are some tough pulls, I think - like several cases worth of hits.
I participated in breaks where upwards of 5-6 cases were opened. It was pretty entertaining with the cards shown and the participant chat.
1/1 Sketch Card of an angry Anakin
I’m pretty sure I see a little Darth Vader there!!!
Live long, and prosper.
1975 Throwback
1/1 Sketch Card of Poe Dameron
Galactic Graffiti Insert of OBI
1/1 Sketch Card of Obi-Wan Kenobi
The force is with you!!!
Love the Star Wars!
