Congrats on the newp. It looks very nice!
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
The 1879 is one of my favorite dates. It has the fancy digits, like the 1877, but it more common and a lot cheaper.

Lovely........Looks more 'R' than 'B'........
Before even opening this thread, I knew I was going to like the coin. And I surely do--it's really nice!
On my screen, the majority of the obverse looks primarily BN and the reverse, RB. Color aside, the surfaces look very clean and the eye-appeal, most pleasing.

Exceptionally clean surfaces for an MS 65. The ones I've seen typically have a contact mark on one of the raised points of the coin or a small, noticeable spot somewhere.

Mark, if you saw this coin in hand, it would change your opinion.The obverse has incredible luster and is semi proof like. Color is 70% red with brown mixed in. Perhaps these new pics will give you a better perspective, maybe not. Your call.
