Go pollute some other thread with your BS as you too often seem to enjoy doing, okay? Thank you.

If you wanna talk smack here about the Phillies, that's fine.

Well I merely looked it up and that’s what AI said. It’s not my BS. If you have information about vaccines that the world doesn’t have you shouldn’t keep that life-saving information to yourself. That’s unconscionable.

My point is that your argument isn’t with me. It’s with the world. I’m not a vaccine expert but I can read.

Alright you pulled me back in. One last comment on this. Google AI is not in the least, dependable in matters such as this for various reasons. AI is only as good as the programmers, and on certain matters, they have an agenda.

The "world" already has accurate, documented, highly negative evidence regarding the nasty and sometimes deadly side effects of the covid vaccine. Sadly the news is getting worse.

    That's all. 😉

In that case ChatGPT is in on it as well because I didn’t use Google and if I said Google I apologize. I don’t know about all that so I’ll defer to your expertise on these matters as you’re more informed than I am.

I do happen to be very well informed on health issues. I've written a good number of articles on the subject. I plan on generating that text into a series of Youtube videos. I just have to figure out how to do it - LOL

Zack Wheelers career is over unfortunately. The thrombectomy to remove a blood clot in his arm and now hes been recommended to have thoracic outlet decompression surgery which no one every comes back from good. Same situation that ended Strasburgs career

Terrible break for the Phils if that turns out to be the case.

But the main thing is I hope Zack recovers from this, and lives a good long healthy life.

He definitely needs to stay away from any further boosters, and also eat a low-fat diet, with many healthy carbs, to keep those arteries as clean as possible.

Its not an artery issue, its a vein issue that happens to some people from the repeated throwing motion. Artery he would be immediately done for and possibly lose his arm.

The only positive for Wheeler is that his was vascular and not the neurological type Stras had. Merril Kelly had the same issue and has been okay since then but he also wasnt 35 when it happened.

Health is definitely the most important and thankfully in that regard he should be alright assuming the surgery goes well, but likely looking at at back end starter if he comes back. Its one of those where the recovery times varies drastically from person to person and Kelly is like the best case scenario. Hes done for the year though

I don’t want to make a big thing of it but what’s up with the Phillies players that every time they open their mouths it’s to whine. Is Bohm going to be OK?

I really don't follow MLB all that closely any longer. Anything ultra interesting that happens during a game, the video of it is usually on Youtube within a day or two and I may watch that.

I look at the MLB standings a few times a week or so, and that's about it. I'll follow it a bit more closely in the playoffs, and then very closely if the Phillies make it to the World Series.

I get it. With the news that just dropped I can see how you would be busy. I had been looking at the Phillies as the team to beat for quite a while.. but there are some cracks appearing.

Phillies have a legit gripe. Soto was granted a timeout in the middle of the pitchers windup. God awful umpiring that ultimately resulted in an ejection for the pitcher and. Louzardo also threw 7 strikes during that at bat but somehow Soto still walked with only one actual ball being thrown.

I knew that was coming. LOL

Phillies still 4 games up in the NL East. However they definitely need to play better against the pesky Mets.

Credit where credit is due, just like last season when it appeared the Mets were going to quit, they bounced back.

BTW - I was at the Phillies WS game 1 in 1980. My Dad thru his business had beautiful seats between home plate and the dugout a few rows up, third base side, and I had a birds eye view, especially because he's a left handed batter, of McBride's magnificent three run homer. Coming just at the right time, which in my opinion, gave the Phillies the confidence and momentum to win that series.

    Phillies with 19 runs today.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 30,728 ✭✭✭✭✭

Phillies with a comfortable 6 game lead in the NL East, heading into the stretch.

So they've got that one wrapped up which is nice for now. However it won't mean chit unless the Phils at least get to the NL championship. And frankly in this day and age, that doesn't mean much either. It's win the World Series, or any regular season success, or league championship success will soon be forgotten.

Get to the playoffs, it's one game at a time, and we shall see what happens. The Dodgers don't seem to be as good as last season, but they are still the team to beat.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 30,728 ✭✭✭✭✭

Phillies now co-favorites with the Dodgers to win the World Series

Of course at +475 that's not exactly
    glowing confidence in either team.

I can't forget that moment in the right field stands as the ball came right at me.
I was on the second level pay phone, talking to my girlfriend who was watching TV with our friends
during a World Series party in the suburbs of Philly. My seat was on the first base line.
I had to seek out a quite area to make the phone call. Wow, was that the wrong place at the right time. There was a wall behind the phone. I saw the ball in flight headed right in front of the wall.
    I was just a teenager.

    !

So cool that we were both at that game. And what a most interesting story of you being in the right field stands area at the time of the HR. Arguably the greatest hit in Phillies history.

I've never heard a crowd noise erupt like that, before or since.

Below is a pic of my program. I've got most of the programs, etc, from that era.

  • emeraldATVemeraldATV Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭✭✭

I bought the program first thing. My girlfriends grandfather kind of a stern solitary Phillies fan who never missed a game, from his lazy boy. That's way cool for any fan's devotion, I thought as we talked, even before any hype started. He had no idea I was going to the games, as I was not telling anyone.
So, I bought two programs at my first game, and I kept one for myself.

I hope they can keep it up going into the playoffs.

For the love of the game.
    ............"WE WIN".............
    Remember that ?

Ei - Ei - Ei - Yo. That was our battle cry at any game, even in San Diego..
Kruk was playing first at S.D. . I was in S.D. and at the game
He heard me, looked up and laughed.

    Everything pasted:

    World Series winner odds 2025

    Philadelphia Phillies: +425
    Seattle Mariners: +500
    Los Angeles Dodgers: +500
    New York Yankees: +700

    San Diego Padres: +1400
    Chicago Cubs: +1400
    Detroit Tigers: +1500
    Boston Red Sox: +2200
    Cleveland Guardians: +3000

Milwaukee finished the regular season with the best record in baseball (97-65), as no team reached 100 wins in 2025. It is sixth on the oddsboard.

I'm not sure about the series. Dodgers are going to be very tough to beat.

But I like the Phillies to win the opener at home. Then we'll take it from there.

Watching the pregame stuff this happened.
As the Phillies lineup was being announced with the player's photo presented on screen, this statement pierced right through all of the noise 7 Philly fans, in one room, could create.
" Why are the Phillies wearing Mexican hats"?
Suddenly Dead Silence, followed by chuckles, as this statement was now confirmed.
I saw it with my own eyes and I had to agree by saying, YOUR RIGHT.
Out of the mouth of babes, off times come gems.
Behind, and ear level of every player's photo was a lite hue of tan.
    That suggested a sombrero hat. What the...?{]-=x % ?

In a game like this, a team can't blow a 3-0 lead, and also not score any runs when the bases are loaded in the bottom of the 8th. Just can't happen if a team is going to win a championship.

It's not over 'til it's over, but this one may be. Hope I'm wrong.

Post season baseball is a bore. The Red Sox got knocked out by the Yankees, what else is new? It sucks where all the games were played in New York. Two in New York and one in Boston would have been fair.

The Phillies will lose to the Dodgers. After that, I don’t care. I won’t watch an inning. The current Phillies are like the team in the 1970s. They played well in the regular season than folded in the playoffs. They need a Pete Rose to give them some winning ways.

I got a bad feeling about tonight's game.

I'm hoping it's from eating too many BBQ chicken wings yesterday, and not from thinking about tonight's outcome of the Phillies losing. Which would basically end the series. I mean there's no conceivable way the Phillies would take three straight against this Dodgers team..

Hey. I'll gladly take a scoreless game with two outs in the bottom of the 9th, and Harper hits a walk off homer.
