It is possible that the mint is now using AI to check all orders for duplicates with HHL limits to make sure no cheaters make it through the system. This may have been added to their software recently, and is why we have seen so many fluctuations in order numbers.
AI is an overused term which is now erroneously used to what just used to be called pattern recognition and algorithms.
AI is not needed to run elementary data matching routines. Nothing more is needed to detect HHL limit violations.
I'm not sure that's erroneous. The error is using the very general term "AI" as synonymous with the specific type "large language models" or LLM. Pattern matching is, arguably, a primitive form of AI.
Not to start a debate about the term, but there's nothing artificial about data matching & compare. It is a rudimentary computing function.

Amazing that they don't just remove the hh limit
It's the new normal. Same as with the Army privies. They are not allowing people to violate the HHL. As long as there is demand they are not allowing people to buy more than one while others are shut out due to them being Unavailable. Compare and contrast with Superman, where the HHL was lifted because there is not sufficient demand to meet the supply.
So they are purging the violating orders every day, and adding them back to inventory. It took them nearly 2 months to lift the HHL on the Armies. Even though they remained available the entire time.
Because, every day, they were receiving orders they wanted to purge. Not because they couldn't sell all of them at any time. They just threw in the towel last week. Likely after determining that 6 weeks was enough time to give everyone a chance to get one.
Same thing here. Except, with 7500 instead of 100K, it is doubtful they will ever lift the HHL before all 7500 are in hands the Mint deems to be eligible. It shouldn't take 6 weeks to get there, with a few dozen at dribbling out every day and being snapped up in a few minutes or hours.

"artificial", in this context, simply means "not human".
noun
artificial intelligence (noun)
AI (noun)
artificial intelligences (noun)
the application of computer systems able to perform tasks or produce output normally requiring human intelligence, especially by applying machine learning techniques to large collections of data:
"artificial intelligence allows us to understand sales cycles better""researchers are using artificial intelligence to identify the type and severity of diseases""our aim is to develop an artificial intelligence screening system"
a program or other piece of software that performs tasks or produces output normally requiring human intelligence:
"the artificial intelligence is fed a training set of data that includes both the relevant problems and their solutions"
If the Mint wanted to make it simplier for them they would cancel ALL orders of a person who orders more than the household limit. That way people would adhere to the rules. Not that I haven't ordered multiples in the past,,,,,,, just saying.

My second order got cancelled. I used a different address (my office), with a different name and email than I used on my first order via guest checkout. Confirmed 3 days ago, cancelled yesterday. I even had a VPN on, so they have some sort of technology that can weed out duplicate orders by credit card information or something.
Same credit card for both?
No, a different credit card with a company used as billing name instead of me personally. Only thing that would have matched was the billing address on both cards.

Oh. The billing address Im sure would be tagged.
When i've wanted more than one of something I get a friend a relative to order for me. This is all the more the case now, when it's so easy to do when they come back up as opposed to before when you really had to know how to work the system to get something within seconds.

The only important thing about the billing address is zip code. As long as it is the correct zip code for the card you use, and as long as you don’t use that address twice, you’ll be fine.

The price of gold continues to go up.
What is causing the rise in price ?😜
It went up 25% in 2024 and 28% in 2025.
Gold futures jumped to record high this morning. Why? What future effect will it have on physical gold ?
My crystal ball is broken. The current trend continues until it reverses.
You keep throwing this gold price out there. We all know why.
Because the price of gold affects the value, collectibility, flipability and future investment return of these gold coins.Flippers post to pump and dump their coins here over and over. Legit postings about their value should also be posted over and over
P.s. who throws more out over and over than you . 😆😆😆

It's not the gold price but the little political comments about why you think gold is up... I would post the specific examples but then I'll probably be accused of bringing politics into it.
No political comments in recent posts about price only said price and asked why. The only one complaining about political is you.
It must be in your head so you are the one getting political . There are dozens of members who complain about your posts.
This will be my last post on this matter. I am not one to keep whining over and over.

No, your recent ones have been bland but prior there was "who's tariffs?" (Sic) and an unnamed individual who was allegedly doing dumb things to drive gold up. It's subtle but not that subtle.
Still available 1.5 hours later, obviously the interest for these is minimal. I can still recall that Sunday morning in November, I had the v75 gold AGE in my cart and fumbled getting my card out of my wallet for the 3 digit code and bam unavailable. Had I known the 3 digit code I would've scored one for sure, so close

I had buying one of those down to an art form. For SO long, I checked EVERY day. So much effort. The ONE day, that Sunday, I figured no point. I was outside cocking the stupid driveway and then logged on amd saw how folks scored. I remember one person saying it was so easy as this for real? Omg. Ill never get over it.
Thankfully I did get one and it made 70 and I am extremely grateful.
However another one, to just leave in the OGP ( which I like far better anyway) would have been amazing.
To be fair, how many people have stopped checking? Everyone is waiting for the mint to let them know when it is back in stock, but it doesn't appear that the mint actually does this.
You simply cannot say that while the HHL remains in place, and the Mint keeps canceling orders and returning items to inventory. Just like the Army privies.
@jmlanzaf pronounced them "not so hot" while they remained available for over a month. Even though the secondary market bid remained 2x issue price the whole time.
After 5 weeks or so, the HHL was lifted, thousands were gobbled up in a few minutes, not to be seen again on the Mint website since, and to this day, they remain bid at 2x issue price. They were hot the entire time. Still are.
Same with this. Let them sit unsold on the Mint website for a few days after the HHL is lifted, and then get back to us with credible pronouncements regarding heat. Like gold Superman. Not so hot after the missing 5K showed up on the website after the first tranche sold out.

I stand by it. "Not hot" isn't the same as "cold". Both offerings are solid but not super hot. There's no evidence of any significant excess demand for either one.

Just checked again.
Add to bag still available for last four hours.
Just add a 2nd one to cart and that removes "not available" on top left & Mint drops your cart to 1.
the coin is available again today.

Gold Saqs were unavailable last Saturday & Sunday.
Then every business day since they were available.
In this thread when various posters post a number that means they can decipher the code that reveals how many are sellable.
Every day last week these were buyable, no emails needed, just follow this thread if you want one.

Still available 10 minutes later, quite a large window of opportunity to scoop one up.
Are the orders still being cancelled by the U.S. Mint.... or.... perhaps buyers are cancelling their orders?
No way to know. Probably a bit of both
