I'm not seeing much leisurely behavior, but I am seeing a lot of kids, adults, and even pro ballplayers going bonkers over pulling "rare" cards from expensive modern packs. Hoarding is a common activity amongst our crowd. I believe that the sports card market is most definitely a window into the mood of our economy.

Oh, thread cleaned up and back on track. My opinion for what it's worth. This is an adult hobby that also has evolved into an alternate asset class. Blue-chip, high grade will remain strong and maybe even inch upward. Football has been undervalued for years.... kind of surprising considering the popularity of the sport. You can get a GOAT (Brady) for approximately 50% off all-time highs (Bowman, Bowman Chrome). Boggs, not a clue... pump & dump or maybe subset of Hall of Fame heavy drinkers? I do agree that there will soon be a buying opportunity as more and more folks experience corporate layoffs or head into retirement.

I'd say the news is big. Maybe large. Or vast. But, huge is kinda like that triple-decker burger that you can't even take a normal bite. It would need to be that huge to be huge.

I think its similar to meme stocks and hot stocks and crypto. Why are you buying that? Cause it might go up. As long as everyone feels that and acts it probably will. For however long they believe it and keep buying. Ethereum went up like 35% in 10 days. Theory on why people bought it-it might go up.

Think the upswings are more pronounced on the TCG/Pokemon side for the entire space. Even high POP cards seem to be shooting up and it just seems to be ridiculous demand. POP 11,000 does not allow enough for everybody who wants one.

I continue to think the situation exists cause there was a lot of sideline cash and now people want to put their chips in play. The sideline is no fun. Maybe part of the huge amount of sideline cash was folks thought tariffs were going to deliver a huge blow to the economy. But most did not factor in minds could be changed and maybe some version of tariffs could be tolerated. Time may still tell on that but think people want to just play ball now whether its AI stocks nuclear energy stocks crypto Pokemon or 1948 Leaf. Personally I appreciate all 5.
