Are you ordering the Superman coin or medals tomorrow? Post your order experience or intentions here if you wish. I’m in for the gold coin and 2 1/2 oz version if I can get an order in! I predict a sellout of both issues. Pure speculation but soon the results will be known.

What are the mintages?
10k on the Gold, 25k on the 2 1/2 oz silver and no limit on the 1 oz silver.

I don't see a sell out for any of those items. Mintages and premiums over spot high.
I'd rather see the actual item I'm getting to avoid QC issues, so I'm watching the secondary market

I agree about the 2.5 ounce silver, but will be SHOCKED if the Mint can actually sell 5,000 ounces of gold at $5,420 per ounce in July 2025. Particularly when the exact same thing is available in silver, in a much larger medal, for 1/10 the price and only 2.5x the mintage.
Sorry, but I just don't see it. I hope for the sake of everyone who can't live without it that I am wrong.

They sold out the Bronco with a huge premium. I think it will be tough but not impossible. It would have been easier if they weren't the 50th government Mint to do it.

Nothing ever had a premium like this. Forget the percentage, which is deceiving as the underlying spot price rises. Literally $2,015 per ounce right now. Bronco was around $1,000, on a far lower spot price. Might have worked out to a higher percentage, but it was far fewer gross dollars. Which matters. The bronco coins were priced at the same $2,715, but contained a full ounce of gold.
Obviously, nothing is ever impossible. So there is nothing to argue about there. Superman is popular. The mintage is right. Being the 50th government isn't necessarily a detriment, given how large the US collector base is. And given how many of the customers of the foreign mints are US collectors.
No, the issue is simply that, contrary to the Mint's apparent belief, the only things in life with totally inelastic demand are food, water and oxygen. Certainly not limited edition gold NCLT from the US Mint.
These would be a bargain if the mintage was 230, as we have already seen. I'm not even sure about 5K.
But we have already seen the secondary market prices for popular Mint gold issues with 10K mintages are right around what they are asking for these. With absolutely no reasonable shot at a flip, or having these even hold value over time, unless gold hits $5K per ounce, demand is going to be limited because dealers are going to find it difficult to mark these up significantly, a lot of people are going to be priced out, and lot more people who can afford it are simply going to refuse to get involved at this premium to record gold spot.
We'll see. I think the winner tomorrow will be the 2.5 medal. If no one is getting e-mails with buy offers, I think we already have our answer on the gold.

Thinking they are actually going to raise anywhere near $27 million. Pinehurst has a bid on the silver. Nothing on the gold.
I was at Pinehurst coins today, they have bid offers on 2.5 medal, but nothing on gold as of right now. Ill probably get a 2.5 to flip, and thats it.

The gold indicates proof finishes. The finishes in the photos are dull. The silver are matte, which should have been proof. Will be a very expensive complete "set" to collect with those premiums, and as they work their way into Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. I expect less participation.

The buying clubs have started to send out e-mails - for the GOLD version. They must have the buyers lined up to take inventory off their hands.
They're even using sentences like, "We expect these coins to sell out very quickly! If you plan on opting in to this deal, please make sure you are ready to place the order at 11:50AM-11:55AM.", in their e-mails.
Not much on the profit front...but does help with credit card award points for flights/hotels/cash-back.
While not profit for me, airline/hotel points do offset future costs for me, so I see even more value in these little offers.

I have a mild interest, but not at that price. I’m tapped out after Summer FUN. I filled my want list and need to spend time on my exhibit for Winter FUN, do more research and decide where I want to go next.

I'm in the cheap seats...going for a simple one ounce version. Aren't the 2.5 silver versions about the same price as the 5 oz quarters were a few years ago? Ugh...I don't know, there's something about collecting coins vs medals for me...they are similar but really different. And it seems like silver medal prices are off the charts, never mind gold! How many will be in this series? Batman and Wonderwoman soon, followed by UnderDog, Secret Squirrel, and Mighty Mouse??

As a high end comic collector of golden age books, and someone just getting into precious metals, I'm their target buyer. This was going to bring me into gold and have been excited for over a month to buy one. But this price is silly. No thanks from me. Not that cool. Not that unique.

I doubt very much that the target audience for the gold is comic collectors.

From what they said, likely a tiny premium over issue price. Likely from dealers who just want to accumulate some inventory for the TV guys, and don't want to take the chance of not being able to get them tomorrow. If, and only if, they can get them at around issue price.
If I'm right, as I said before, there is not a lot of room for the dealers here, because they are already priced around where the flip would be if they were priced normally. These things in slabs might go for $3K+, maybe $4K on TV, but $5K is hard to see. So they don't have room to pay up from $2700 in order to cover their overhead and make their margins. Unlike you, they don't work for 10-20%.
The only edge for a buyer's club member is not the 2-3% they'd get back in credit card points, but the 20%+ they'll get if they are working on a credit card sign up bonus.

I predict with 35 minutes left before the gold goes on sale that they’ll be sold out in the same amount of time : about 35 minutes. While I do not typically make such predictions, something tells me 10,000 will be gone faster than a speeding bullet.

Thank you for this. I'm looking for something with a little more rarity, but admittingly don't understand mint rarities. 10,000 (for gold) and 25,000 (for the 2.5 silver) don't seem low, but this is what I need to learn. Even as a big Superman fan, I just don't have the feeling that I'd be missing out if I just pass.
