    I remember that I bought my first gold coin, a decent BU 1900-S $20, for $50 in May of 1966, but sold it later for $55 because I needed the money.

    When a dealer's case full of VF-XF 19th century type coins made your heart race.

    Also when a Fine graded mercury dime had to have all the vertical lines on the fasces present

    I think I remember seeing one that was still a nickel. Maybe it was for local calls only.
