Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I was going to create a thread called "Upping my Capped Bust half dime - up yours" but then I thought that would bring the ban hammer down on my head. So I'll share a half dollar here instead.
This is my 1825 O-108 in NGC/CAC 58. I didn't have a bust 50c piece so I had one of the elder statesmen of the Bust Half Nut Club (Steve H) walk around with me at the Pittsburgh ANA in August '23 (holy cow, that's 2 years ago already) and we found this one at Eye Appealing Coins. It had the right level of sincerity on it.
That's not bad. That's not what I'm talking about, though. I've had several very dark to black coins whitewashed with bright axial lighting. This 42-O small date in hand is dark brown in color.

Is that a trashy 24/1? Possibly the O102?

I assume this is another dark coin "whitened" with bright axial lighting.
Here's my best CBH gradewise.
Of course, standard True Views, I've never seen a nice white down at that grade, here are some in hand shots.
