This whole privy thing needs to be managed appropriately. I know I am repeating myself but it really is crucial to keeping interest.
I would guess that's who the big boys are going to try to market to. But $300 to $400 may be a tough sell given that it's just a privy mark. You can get a 2011 Army silver dollar for under $50
Sorry, but if that was the case, they'd have made more and priced them lower. These are directed towards people chasing "low mintage" proofs and privys. Because you are correct, no one who doesn't otherwise collect is going to be interested in a $3-400 ounce of silver just because they have a tenuous connection to the Army.

Yes, yes, yes. You are more, so much more, than merely a role model. You are a numismatic genius who thinks on a level most of us can only dream of. Which is probably why you get so lost in the labyrinth that is your brain that you chase every slight nuance of every potential situation, focusing on the minutiae and missing what's actually going on.
There is no base of Army veterans collecting $400 proof ASEs to market to, aside from a tiny subset of folks already collecting. No, these are just proof ASE privys. Just like the V75s. Being marketed to people chasing labels and low mintage proof ASEs.

Again, splitting hairs for the sake of splitting hairs. Yes, of course there will be at least one person who ever served in the Army who will buy one of these.
But that is not the person driving demand for slabs at $300+. And you know it. Demand will be driven by people chasing privys. All of them. And by people who think a proof ASE with a mintage of 100K will be a winner.
TBD is what happens with the laser privy. Also likely to be a 100K mintage. Which branch of the armed services will the Big Boys be marketing that to? The Space Force? 😀
ATS was just 0 and the product page said "Currently unavailable." Refreshed a couple times and ATS jumped to an even 3,000. Now the number is jumping around, moving lower, 150 gone in a couple minutes. Very strange.

Not any more.....Cancellations, multiple addresses??
Same thing as has been going on all along. Also likely why they haven't shipped yet. The Mint is playing whack a mole with people who want a 2x flip, but are not eligible to buy.
Which is why, to answer @jmlanzaf's eternal question, they don't sell out even though they are "hot." People who want them cannot get them. People who get them are not allowed to keep them.
But the $200+ bid absolutely does indicate that there is demand, right now, today, for more than 100K of them. Since that is all that will ever be made, dealers need to offer $200+ to get what they can in order to slab what they can slab, for sale at $300+.
Once they finally sell out, bids will likely rise at first, then fall, as dealers wind down slabbing these and move on to the next thing. Where they end up in the future is anyone's guess, but they are not a terrible hold at $105 if you like them.
what makes it feel odd is that we expected it to sell out soon and it hit an even 3000 (we think)
Well, to be fair, it did actually sell out. At least the quantity they had previously made available for sale.
It just so happened that they had an additional 3K waiting in the wings. Which was kind of to be expected, based on the fact that they have been aggressively canceling sales and reloading inventory from the get-go.
TBD whether this is a one-off, or the new normal for hot issues. But the Mint is clearly determined to win this battle with the gamers who they previously identified as going way past the one or two friends and family that many here use to circumvent HHLs on hot items.

if you are not buying to keep for your collection, cancel now before it is too late. Hold off on buying slabbed coins. Prices will drop and there will be more than enough available.

You might very well be right about slabbed coins at $300+, but "cancel now before it is too late" makes absolutely zero sense when they can be flipped, right now, for a 100%+ profit. Why would you even say such a thing?
it is a bit worrisome thar we had 300 remaining and they trickled down. then, once they upped to 3000(?) they are selling much faster. a possibility is there are 1000 people with cancelled orders who just don't get it

P.S. Lift the HHL and this this topic can finally be put to rest. RGDS!

The Bigs don't have them yet. Not even @NJCoin's favorite TV Stars have them in hand Lol.
When they send them in for bulk grading, they cannot specify 70 as a minimum grade, no? So when 20% come back as 69's, they'll still manage to squeeze out a profit on those, at least early on, no?.

I think that's exactly what's happening. It costs them nothing to keep playing, and they are probably hoping the Mint just gives up at some point. In the meantime, there are less and less being added to inventory each time, so something is leaking out, and they WILL actually sell out at some point, without the HHL ever being lifted.

We established several months ago that they absolutely can specify 70 as a minimum grade. In any event, Pinehurst is also selling 69s. These will not be losers for the Big Boys no matter what, given that they took down 10% of the mintage at issue price. 69s are selling for more than raw, so there is no reason at this point for dealers to have them returned unslabbed.

Not when they can be flipped to several buyers at $200+, but are only worth $105 when returned to the Mint. Not a single coin is being returned to inventory voluntarily. Not one.

No, I hadn't seen Heather's clarification before, a two year old post. I recall someone recently saying 'unwritten', or 'insider' min 70 subs allowed, something like that? Anyway...
Heather's clarification is petty straight forward when she said...
"Min 70 deals do happen on occasion on certain modern releases."
Bulk Min 70's are a privilege it seems, happen on occasion, on certain modern releases, and in no way suggests that anyone in the Bulk program will receive this privilege in regard to the Proof Army ASE submissions, as @NJCoin speculatively suggests. Thanks again MetroD.

Actually, no. There was a debate here a few months back, and someone from PCGS, maybe Heather, confirmed that bulk submitters can indeed now specify a minimum grade of 70, notwithstanding what you see on the website.
And I know for a first hand fact that you can do it ATS, because I was offered it at a show with a 100 coin minimum No charge whatsoever for coins that weren't slabbed..

Riiight. Only some special large customers. Not all of them. Because PCGS doesn't want the business from all. Only from some. While ATS offered it to me, a virtual nobody. Because you can't possibly be wrong. Only me.
Yes, it was two years ago, not a few months ago. But I didn't "speculatively suggest" anything. I stated it as a fact.
There was the usual debate, because I never know what I am talking about. And Heather graciously came on and confirmed what I said, taking care not to contradict what was published on the website. Which means it is a special insider deal that all of the dealers don't know about. Because you didn't know about it. Right?
PCGS doesn't care about "this program" or "that program." They are just a factory in it to make money. They are now individually numbering bullion slabs for Magic Mike on TV. If they offer something, they'll offer it to anyone who meets the criteria and is willing to pay. Period. Absolutely no reason on earth for them to discriminate and turn away business.
The reason you won't see it with the Army privys is because, right now, which is all that matters, slabbed 69s can be sold for more money than raw coins, so there is no reason to not allow the TPG to slab them. Period.
Comments
Sorry, but if that was the case, they'd have made more and priced them lower. These are directed towards people chasing "low mintage" proofs and privys. Because you are correct, no one who doesn't otherwise collect is going to be interested in a $3-400 ounce of silver just because they have a tenuous connection to the Army.
At this point, they will not be removing the HHL.
The "big boys" I mentioned have not minted a single coin.

There is no base of Army veterans collecting $400 proof ASEs to market to, aside from a tiny subset of folks already collecting. No, these are just proof ASE privys. Just like the V75s. Being marketed to people chasing labels and low mintage proof ASEs.
Disagree. Not exclusively, of course. I know you'll be overly literal otherwise.
As of 10:45 EDT, ats = 0 and the Mint’s website had it at “Currently Unavailable”
Not any more.....Cancellations, multiple addresses??
Very strange indeed! ATS is 2839 now!
ATS is 2794 now.
Games?
Under 2400....moving quickly from this level it appears.
2230
what makes it feel odd is that we expected it to sell out soon and it hit an even 3000 (we think)
Right? 🤔 🎶 “There’s something strange, in your neighborhood…. There’s something weird, and it don't look good…Who you gonna call?” 🎶 😄
limit busters?
1934 coins now in the inventory.
Please, stop with the compliments. You don't need to post your fealty and agreement on everything i write.
if you are not buying to keep for your collection, cancel now before it is too late. Hold off on buying slabbed coins. Prices will drop and there will be more than enough available.
I think I remember hearing that on the Flowing Hairs.
http://ProofCollection.Net
But I do! I do!
You might very well be right about slabbed coins at $300+, but "cancel now before it is too late" makes absolutely zero sense when they can be flipped, right now, for a 100%+ profit. Why would you even say such a thing?
We all deserve purple hearts for going through this for one coin.
How about black eyes?

it is a bit worrisome thar we had 300 remaining and they trickled down. then, once they upped to 3000(?) they are selling much faster. a possibility is there are 1000 people with cancelled orders who just don't get it
Just the BIGS returning their non-MS70 "rejects" lol. CRZY WRLD
Not one.
Blitzdude has been repeating this misinformation repeatedly, probably trying to be funny.

Who is paying $210 plus shipping cost that can be trusted not to back out when it hits the fan ? My little birds are telling me it’s going to splatter like you have never seen before. 🫢
.
"How Does Grading Work for Bulk Submissions?"
● You may indicate one (1) minimum grade on your submission form.
● PCGS will holder any coins that meet or exceed the requested minimum grade.
● Minimum grade requested cannot be MS/PR70; minimum-70 Bulk Submissions will not be accepted.
● If any grade is acceptable, please indicate with “Any” on the submission form. If no minimum is requested, all coins will be graded."

Yes, I may have heard somewhere, maybe here? - that there's an 'unwritten rule', regarding 70's accepted as a minimum grade from certain privileged Bigs. I don't buy it, just me.
Pinehurst, among others.
Why are you worried?
http://ProofCollection.Net
Not sure if this is what you are remembering, but the min. 70 issue was discussed here.
Why do a few members continue to speculate about this release? 🤔
about being wrong
Thanks MetroD(edit).

Nice job digging that up! It is EXACTLY what I was referring to!!!
Period.
