FROM TODAY'S VISIT TO HIMEJI CASTLE IN HIMEJI JAPAN:
Filming of the 1967 James Bond Film “You Only Live Twice” set in Japan incorporated Himeji Castle as the set for the film’s Ninja Training School.
Filming at the castle site came to an abrupt halt when someone erroneously reported to a newspaper that the Ninja actors were throwing Ninja Stars at a walkway wall resulting in damage to the historic castle.
Although it appeared to the reporting observer that the wall was being damaged from the hurled stars, in fact a dummy wall had been erected in front of it. However once the story broke perception became reality and the film crew were not allowed to continue filming at Himeji Castle.
In this brief video clip the subject walkway wall has been located and visiting Ninjas are seen hurling imaginary Ninja Stars at it.

Yes I would!! A thick slab of Crown bologna, slice of onion, a touch
of mayo, hopefully Duke's and a measure of mustard! Wash it down
with 16 oz. bottle of RC cola and finish it with a Moon Pie. That's good
eatin' in the neighbor hood.
Every day on the way to the mine in west liberty, ky, a store very similar to this made me a bologna, cheese, lettuce and tomato with pickle sandwich for 75 cents. Spent a lot of time in various stores like that in TN, KY and WV as thats what most looked like in 50's and 60's.

A visit to Japan’s iconic Himeji Castle is not complete without also experiencing the neighboring Koko-En Garden.
After a challenging climb to the top of Himeji Castle and its sometimes crowds, a visit to the garden is a welcomed respite.
In this video experience the serenity of the garden while still being able to glimpse Himeji Castle’s towers.
