    Is that a divot in the middle of the obverse?
    Otherwise, a potential XF40 yet like seatedlib3991 states, probably a strong VF30.

    I will post an in-hand picture when it arrives, but I don't think so. I don't have any draped bust ANYTHiNG but the price was hard to resist in a foreign auction - occ. have made out like a bandit, but will wait and see. I liked the toning & perimeter strike looked fairly good with no cleaning and none of that "second wear" pattern that I see on these coins - where it appears that they were used in circulation, set aside and then re-entered circulation with what looks to be an unattractive second bout of circulation...

    Looks VF-30 to me too. I believe it's an Overton 108 with weak hair details and prominent centering dot.

    Thanks all, and I had a bit of guess in that range but really will like to see it in person. Previously I had gotten from the same source a really great 1872 S half now in PCGS 63.....I was hoping for a 35 or so but will grade at hosts if I get in time for B-more.

    I had seen coins like this slabbed as “30” and wouldn’t have bid. This is that double circulated effect that I was talking about.

    The technical grade is EF, but it’s poorly struck in the center on both sides, which is not unusual for this date. Getting someone to pay EF money would hard. I would say VF-35.

    That first 1807 is not a bad coin at all. I'd be tempted if the price was right. Nice toning and a nice strike overall despite its flaws. Hard to give opinions without a price but I understand not wanting to say.

    The O.108 obverse die can be differentiated from O.110 by the seventh star. On O.108, Star 7 points to L well above base, higher than any other Bust Right 1807.

    The grade will hinge on the quality of the surfaces. And that can best be determined in hand once the coin arrives. Best of luck.

    Thanks, and that is the type of look that I was referring to - and don't care for at all - and seems common for many draped bust silver coins in particular.

    I think PCGS would call the coin VF35, it's EF details as BillJones mentioned, but the coin appears cleaned and will likely be straight graded VF. No cac, JA is really strict about "circulation dirt" that's been removed from the fields with cleaning. What you call a double circulated coin is one that has likely had the high points wiped clean of dirt with a cloth, which bothers JA more than it bothers the grading companies I guess
    This is what you dislike, the coin is lustrous, has breast feathers intact and looks AU to me, but the wipe that removed some of the darker toned areas is probably why PCGS gave it and EF45 grade, and JA said, no bean for you!

    Well I am still hoping for a 35/40 but will as Peak said see how it is on delivery. Nor understanding the cleaning comment on the OP coin.
