No wise cracks, just die cracks obverse and reverse. Show em if you got em.

Here's a 1956 Washington with a die crack thru the top of Washington's head and clear through the reverse. Show your die cracks.
Jim
Edited to add better photo of reverse die crack.

Not my coin, but is my photo.
I've shared this one before; most recently on:

Nice coins both. Yos what a beautiful half dime. I mean a gorgeous die crack on a beautiful design.

This is an 1834 JR-2 dime. Part of a John Reich Journal article that I'm helping with by an author who, unlike me, knows dimes very well. Sharp observers will know why the date is soft...

@Bikergeek a cud on the reverse?
Here is a bust quarter with a large reverse crack.
Sean,
I agree with @scubafuel, reverse CUD. Nice perimeter die crack.
Let us know when the article comes out.

Show all the coins in their individual progression. The gif is great. Cool you were able to garner those.

This one has cracks all over the coin on both sides.

Wow, nice JR-3 with a great die crack. Congrats.

Nice B-9
This reverse has at least half a dozen cracks, but the most prominent runs from the rim at 6 o’clock, across the top of TWENTY, through the star and into UNITED.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
I picked up this shattered reverse gold and this half dime to match Clint's example from Northeast this year. I am a big fan of cracks and cuds.

@PocketChange now that's a great die crack. I like how it progressed in a peripheral pattern with the lettering, but yet intruded northward into the first "C" mintmark. I like how it created a flow(for lack of a better term) inside the "C", beside being an absolute gorgeous coin. Thanks for sharing.

@jesbroken
The obverse is pretty messed up too, with severe and fatigued clashing, but also some weak areas and mushiness from the reverse situation

Todd, that is a beautiful coin. I assumed there would be mushiness with that much die damage on the reverse and so there is, but what a gorgeous example of 200+ year old silver coin. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone have a picture of a cracked die? Always been curious how deep the cracks go once they start forming.

For some capped bust half dates it's harder to find examples without cracks than with. Here's another one.
OK, cool, we're showing the flip sides on these! Below is the reverse of the 1834 JR-2 dime I put up earlier. Of course, @jesbroken and @scubafuel and others I'm sure identified it as a cud coin causing the weakness in the date.
Which makes me want to ask @lkenefic for a flipside image of the One Cent (or shall I say " NE C NT" that was posted on 5/13... that one has a story to tell!

I'm kind of a Crack Addict, so I had to come back to this thread.
In fact, I am so crazy about Die Cracks and Crack progression, that I will be doing a presentation about just that topic in Oklahoma City this year. That will be at the Bust Half Nut Club Open Meeting on Thursday, August 21, at 2:00pm. If you make it to the show I hope you'll join us there.
