as an aside, I was looking at stats last night and was surprised to find that Curry is 37 years old. I guess I should not have been, but in my mind, he has been about 31 for the last 5-6 years!!!
makes me a little sad that his window is rapidly closing. fun player to watch.

I can't believe it - really? The last second the Cavs lose after leading all game.
Outside of his 3pt shooting, Donovan Mitchell was pretty awesome in that game last night. He definitely earned all of those 21 trips to the FT line and took a beating, literally & figuratively. Hopefully he's good to go for G3.
speaking of inexplicable meltdowns, the Cavs up 7 with 47 seconds left and now they have one foot in the grave against a team that can match up with them and certainly doesn't fear them
may be a very anticlimactic end to a great season for Cleveland
with all of these wild swings in games and incredible choke jobs, I can't help but think back to the days of Jordan. Can you imagine an MJ-led team gagging a 20-point lead in the 3rd quarter of a home playoff game, or a 7-point lead with less than a minute left in another? Think he'd settle for low percentage step-back 26-footers that allow the opposition back into the game instead of molesting the rim and putting them to sleep?
It makes me chuckle just envisioning those implausible scenarios. Never, ever.
After reading your post of 8:05 a.m. today an image of Clint Eastwood in the film Gran Torino comes to mind.
Have you ever snarled GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, I agree with your post. As for Steven59's post of 12:18 p.m. my answer is no. I do not remember anyone I played hoops with or against in high school and in college sitting out with a sprained toe or a sore thumb.
"Golden State's Stephen Curry has sustained a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and will be ruled out for Game 2 against Minnesota on Thursday, sources tell ESPN. It's the first strained muscle of Curry's career, so exact return timetable is unclear due to first rehab like this," Charania wrote on his X account. "The Warriors expect Stephen Curry to miss at least one week with the Grade 1 left hamstring strain, sources tell ESPN. An exact return will be based on how their All-NBA guard responds to rehab with his first muscle strain."
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
and then Boston turns around in game 2 and blows a 16-point lead in the 4th
unreal lol
edit: from the 8:40 mark in the 4th when they were up 16, the Celtics jacked up 7 3s and missed all of them. in game 1 they created the blueprint on how to give a game away, and they stuck to it in G2
I watched 3 quarters and had enough, I'm glad they lost
I'm not sure they could have shot any worse or done a better job of missing easy 2 point layups, Jaylen Brown gets 300 plus Million or whatever and has 3 points in the entire second half? That's hard to do
Tatum had probably one of the worst scoring games of his career, he was horrible
Between the long Finals run a year ago and then having three of their starters play in the Olympics, I’m entirely convinced that we’re now finally seeing the affects of that Defending Champs Curse that we hear about after every championship. Nagging injuries, mental lapses in critical moments and significant drops in shooting percentage.
There’s a reason why the previous five teams that defended their Finals win have never made it past the second round the following year and it’s not playing out any differently for Boston right now.
Their season hasn’t officially been declared dead and buried yet but it’s probably a great time to start looking for that cemetery plot.
With all of the tax implications currently hanging over their salary cap and a new owner coming in, who knows what this roster will look like 5 months from now when training camp starts back up.
hate to belabor this point, but it's so confounding to me. i'll just never understanding why Boston chooses to live and die by the 3 when they have two of the best scorers in the league. when you have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on your roster and you shoot the fewest free throws in the league and have the third fewest layups (look it up if you don't believe me), the coach needs to be fired. it's inexcusable. and when you blow a 20-point lead in a home playoff game after doing it two nights ago, he should've been fired before he left the court. dude the only way you're going to vomit all over yourself in a situation like that is if you routinely launch shots that have a 1-in-3 (at the very best with the way they were shooting) chance of going in. here's a novel idea: when you're up 20, use your assets to create a higher-percentage shot. move closer to the basket. if they don't get a clean look, they'll dish to someone who does. they have that ability. all of a sudden, that 1-in-3 improves and that 20-point lead becomes almost insurmountable.
and it's the reason why a guy like Tatum will never roll off anyone's tongue when it comes time to discussing the very best players in the association. there's zero killer instinct. the guy averages 27 points per game and wilts like a flower when his team needs him most. he just allowed a lesser team come into his house and make two 20-points leads evaporate in front of his eyes. at what point do you say i'm the best player on the floor, so give me the f*****g ball because i'm not going to allow the improbable to happen? seriously, when will he remember how good he is and take over like a true superstar would? hence me mentioning Jordan up above. never, ever would that happen. not even once. can you imagine twice in consecutive games? lol
i'm not a Boston backer and i did not have a cent on last night's game. i'm just a lukewarm NBA fan who becomes increasingly more interested come playoffs time, thus when i see pop tarts happen that shouldn't it really grinds my gears. imagine if i was actually a Celtics fan? lol i would be so effing pissed right now. pissed at Brown, pissed at Tatum, and i'd want to use a bow and arrow on the coach.

Their shot selection was definitely much better in G2 than it was in G1 but while everyone wants to rip Boston's decision making late in the two games and repeatedly pointing out what they should have done in those situations, not a single person wants to consider how good NY's perimeter defense has been. They have three of the best wing defenders in basketball in Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges & OG Anunoby. Bridges just finished 2nd in DPOY not too long ago and Anunoby has also made the All-Defensive team a well. those two are every bit as good on defense as Jrue & White are for Boston and were acquired to specifically combat Tatum & Brown on offense. I'm not saying they're the sole reason for both of the Jays struggling in crunchtime in these two games but its definitely been a huge factor.
and it's the reason why a guy like Tatum will never roll off anyone's tongue when it comes time to discussing the very best players in the association. there's zero killer instinct. the guy averages 27 points per game and wilts like a flower when his team needs him most. he just allowed a lesser team come into his house and make two 20-points leads evaporate in front of his eyes. at what point do you say i'm the best player on the floor, so give me the f*****g ball because i'm not going to allow the improbable to happen? seriously, when will he remember how good he is and take over like a true superstar would? hence me mentioning Jordan up above. never, ever would that happen. not even once. can you imagine twice in consecutive games? lol
Cmon bud, Jordan is completely irrelevant to any of this. The guy is the GOAT for a reason and comparing ANY player to him is pointless. That would be like seeing Jalen Hurts play badly in a divisional round loss next postseason and then immediately saying "Well, he's no Tom Brady." No shit he's not lol but he still has a championship ring on his resume. As does Tatum.
As for blowing double digit leads, that shit happens so often that its honestly not that rare at all. I won't try to insult your intelligence, call you a casual fan or any of that nonsense but in just about 2-3mins of research I came up with all of these blowns leads just in these playoffs alone (which has been what, roughly two weeks since they started?)
Bucks blew a 20pt lead in a loss
OKC blew a 14pt lead in a loss
Clippers gave up a 14pt lead in a loss
Rockets blew a 13pt lead in a loss
Indy blew a 12pt lead and lost by 16
Grizzlies blew a 29pt lead
GS let a 23pt lead get whittle down to 3 but still won the game.
Cleveland just blew a 20pt lead in a loss
And we all saw how these two Celtics games just ended. Badly, Very Badly. There's no argument that could be made to say otherwise but I'll just point out that there have been some monumental collapses happening throughout these entire playoffs, not just in Boston. Six straight home losses to start any round of the playoffs has never happened before but most people just want to point at Boston's struggles for obvious reasons, they were the defending champs.
I've honestly been waiting all season to see how/when last offseason was going to finally catch up with this team and its pretty evident right now that it already has.
i'm not a Boston backer and i did not have a cent on game 1 or game 2. i'm just a lukewarm NBA fan who becomes increasingly more interested come playoffs time, thus when i see pop tarts happen that shouldn't it really grinds my gears. imagine if i was actually a Celtics fan? lol i would be so effing pissed right now. pissed at Brown, pissed at Tatum, and i'd want to use a bow and arrow on the coach.
I get it, we all deal with sports losses differently but I just see no point in letting it affect me to that level of anger. I've learned that just staying off social media and local sports content is the best remedy to keep my blood pressure on an even keel lol. Boston sports fans are angry miserable people when our sports teams are winning so its usually just best to ignore them when our teams lose in epic fashion. An online interaction in those situations will just lead to a never ending battle.
I am the in the same situation as you when it comes to NBA fandom. I couldnt care less for the regular season, when playoffs come, I am a casual/interested fan.
And it is completely confounding what they have done in the first 2 games.
lazy, lazy, lazy.
and Tatum is definitely not a closer. no killer instinct at all in this team. Just listen to them in the post games. I dont know if they are just trying to give off a laid back or "cool" vibe, or if they truly do not care, but neither Tatum or Brown appear to give a rats behind. at least in their speech and cadence. show some fire guys. I listened to Browns comments after the game and he sounded like they had to wake him up just to comment on the game.
they are a hard team to root for and if they did not play in boston, I sure wouldnt be. I am definitely rooting for the jersey and not the players.
there is a BIG difference between the fire players like Bird, Brady, Pedro and Schilling showed and the luke-warm stiffs they have on the court right now!!
naturally i haven't mentioned MJ with the expectations of Tatum becoming him. but being one of the league's best scorers and the best player on one of the best teams, it sure wouldn't hurt to try and emulate him. to Craig's point, Tatum & Brown sound like they just finished a spa treatment after two soul-crushing playoff losses at home. Michael Jordan probably would have found Steve Kerr and punched him again. i don't see any fire. i don't see any killer instinct. when the wheels start to come off, i don't see a 27 ppg scorer trying to will his team to victory. i see situational unawareness at its finest. it's an unwarranted launchfest from downtown. no one will convince me that the 2 and the 0 in this series would not be transposed if Tatum, Brown & Co. had bypassed even a fraction of the seventy-five threes they have missed in the first two games.

Sure, ideally that would be awesome but realistically, not so much. How would we even make that happen? Have him listen to the Be Like Mike song a few times? Watch the original Space Jam and not that wanna be remake junk? 😉

Tim Duncan's demeanor really wasn't any different than the Jays, smile after huge wins, frowns after crushing losses but the majority of time he got the job done and led his team to numerous championships.
Tatum & Brown just finally led the team to their first Finals win a year ago after repeatedly hearing for years that they couldn't win a championship playing together, they actually proved everyone wrong and all of those critics just completely moved the goalposts and called it too easy.
Fans also said that Jordan couldn't win at the NBA level when the Pistons were crushing his Bulls in the playoffs.
For many years "Fans" also said Lebron was too timid to take the last shot in crunchtime and now he's top 2-3ish in GWers.
That Steph couldn't carry the Dubs to a championship on his own when he still had three Rings on his hand but no FMVP.
For a very long time on this very forum, we heard that Brady was an overrated system QB even though he had 4 Rings and had just completed the greatest comeback in SB history vs the Falcons. Perk,Craig & I beat that drum for years but no one else here was buying in on Tom's greatness until he literally shut everyone up.
Look at all of the overreactions here towards Mahomes just recently after he got the crap beat out of him by a bunch of birds wearing green lol.
What we're really talking about with that specific viewpoint is, too many fans have unrealistic expectations for how a player should feel or act, to expect otherwise is complete delusion from that fan imo. There's no Easy button that just makes that happen lol.
i see situational unawareness at its finest. it's an unwarranted launchfest from downtown. no one will convince me that the 2 and the 0 in this series would not be transposed
Again, MJ was GOD on a basketball court and the entire world knew that, heck the guys reffing his games were even betting on him and probably had the same bookie. Players like MJ, Brady, Tiger, Gretzky are all on the Mount Rushmore of sports for a reason, they were each uniquely one of a kind.
if Tatum, Brown & Co. had bypassed even a fraction of the seventy-five threes they have missed in the first two games.
They cut their 3pt attempts by more than half from G1 to G2 going from 26 to 12, between NY's wing defense & Robinson's protection in the paint it clearly wasn't as easy to score inside the arc that you guys seem to think it is but I digress. Let me go find that Be Like Mike cassette and get it shipped out.
I always love the Tatum isn't a closer rants, they usually come from some ignorant moron who wouldn't even qualify to be called a casual NBA fan.
Do you know when we didn't hear that phrase? In the last round when he closed out the Magic over the final three games of that series where he scored 36, 37 & 35 with a combined 37/37 from the free throw line. And the series before that where he led the team in points, rebounds & assists on the way to the team's 18th banner. And the series before that where he averaged 30/10/6 in a 4 game sweep of the Pacers in the ECF.
Just an idiotic take from someone talking completely out of their ass but I'd expect no less from my fellow Boston fans, we just LOVE to rip on our black players when they fail. Its why stars don't want to play here and the entire basketball world outside of the region hates us.
The 2024-2025 NBA playoffs are definitely resonating with posters on the Sports Forum (and across a large part of society in general). The games have been fun to watch and follow. Even more fun is watching, reading and following the post game coverage across multiple platforms.
Each game is a stand alone, as are each series. The most recent game (and series) is the subject of much conversation, discussion and analysis, with much focus on what went wrong, what went right, who played great and who stunk up the gym.
Then the next game (or series) takes place. What was important yesterday is ignored and the focus shifts to the outcome of today's game.
Rinse and repeat, until mid June when the Champion is crowned.
While all this is playing out before our eyes, players rise to the occasion and perform at the highest level. Other players wilt. Other players are injured. Coaches make magic with brilliant game plans. Other coaches are clueless and demonstrate they are not worthy of their seat on the bench. Referees either are not visible (that is a good thing as it shows they are doing a good job), or they are the object of scorn and ridicule as they perform their jobs horribly.
All the while the masses (including me) who are/were gym rats Are Entertained!!!!
Carry on, as tonight we have GSW v. Minnesota in Game 2 today.
Sure, ideally that would be awesome but realistically, not so much. How would we even make that happen? Watch the original Space Jam and not that wanna be remake junk? 😉
never seen the jam. does it touch on shot selection while nurturing huge leads in important playoff games?

Well, shots were pretty easy when you could do this...
That basically tells me that they just had one bad quarter on offense, not much different than NY scoring just 13pts total in the first quarter. Had Boston just made one more two point FG last night then we're probably not having this conversation right now. Had they made one more free throw in regulation of G1 and the narrative surrounding this team is completely changed.
They gave up the two big leads and lost b2b games, no one is saying otherwise, all i'm saying is that repeatedly trying to make the argument that its a symptom of some much bigger problem is honestly just ridiculous. They've just had a bad two game stretch that was really just a bad quarter of play in each of those two games.
Some people aren't fans of teams that shoot lots of threes, you've made that point perfectly clear, but you're also choosing to just ignore all of the success that this team has had playing their brand of basketball. That style just won them the championship, that play style was how GS won four championships. Its just how the game is played in this era of basketball where its much more efficient to score 3's over 2's.
MJ was awesome and the 90's were a great time for many of us as basketball fans (who were also collectors of cards) but outside of a handful of the better teams, alot of the basketball that was played back then was honestly boring af. That style of play should stay in the past, if I wanted to see two teams treat every play like its 4th & 1 I'd just go watch football. You could say the same about the 80's as well, a handful of elite teams that won and plenty of others just going through the motions with plenty of ugly basketball in between.
I value wins, not stylepoints, this team just needs to get back to winning, )-2 is tough hole to climb out of but this team has done it before, hopefully they get back to doing it in G3.
I do hope that GSW wins Game 2 tonight, just to see all of the talking heads who opine the GSW has no chance of winning the game (and a title) eat crow
We shall see.
Since I am based in the SF Bay Area and since my favorite sport is hoops (having played in high school and college a very long time ago) I have watched GSW since 1986 (39 years ago). Most of that time the franchise has been a dumpster fire, but going to games in Oakland and now in SF was and is always a good time.
Having seen GSW perform in the Curry era has been a treat. Maybe, just maybe the team will make it to (and win???) another Finals before Curry retires. It has been a treat to watch him play.
After a tough loss and the NBA is making it even worse - but really, I didn't think the refs call lane violations or traveling at all anymore
NBA L2M Report Says Refs Missed Lane Violations on Haliburton FT During Pacers-Cavs G2
"The officials missed multiple calls during the chaos of the final minutes of the Indiana Pacers' 120-119 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series on Tuesday.
The NBA released its Last Two Minute Report for the game, and three incorrect calls stood out.
As Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files shared, Aaron Nesmith's putback dunk on Pascal Siakam's missed free throw should have been a jump ball because of a double-lane violation. There was also a missed double-lane violation on Tyrese Haliburton's missed free throw and offensive rebound in the closing seconds"

With all of the talk above about wanting to see Tatum flip that switch and have his master of the universe moment on his way to a championship, IMO there's just two players in these 2025 playoffs that are entirely capable of doing just that, Steph with his shooting and Joker with his playmaking.
Even had he not gotten hurt, it would have been a brutal uphill battle just getting out of the WCF if he even made it that far.
GS has all of the other pieces: a pretty stingy D, a 2nd high volume shooter in Hield and Butler, aka Robin, who might be in the perfect role as Steph's #2 on offense. Even before Steph's injury, health would have been the main argument against a Dubs run and obviously its now a huge road block in extending their season another round.
I'd honestly love to see a rematch of GS vs Boston in the Finals. I'd be an absolute nervous wreck come crunchtime just waiting for that Curry takeover moment that we all know would be coming but it would definitely be worth it.
If Boston isn't able to sneak into the next round then I'd be pretty impartial towards whichever team ultimately ends up winning the chip.
Steph would one more to his legacy.
One more for Joker would cement his even more.
Cleveland would have one that wasn't tied to Lebron.
Ant, SGA, Haliburton & Brunson would each finally bring one to their long suffering fanbase.
Every path would lead to a pretty great story, (🤞that Boston can continue theirs lol)

Just for your sanity, I'd entirely give up on ever seeing a travelling call actually get whistled. I think the NBA actually changed the wording in the rulebook just to make that two step-one step (for a total of three) the new norm.
I could live with the travelling if they just evened out their consistency on their foul calls. if its a moving pick, get it right both ways. If its a foul on the shot, don't wait to see if it goes in or not before making the call.
edit: having that extra night off should be a huge bonus for the Cavs. I thought they were playing tonight but saw that they got two nights in between games instead of one.
Ant out with a left ankle sprain, questionable to return. Hopefully the Dubs can take advantage of his absence and get back into this game on the scoreboard.
Minnesota has done a great job walling off Hield every time he touches the ball out beyond the arc. He’s made 3/7 but this was one of those games where you’d want to see him put up 10 to 15 of them with no Steph.

I'm guessing that's due to how good they were on the road this season (33-8) with two of those wins coming on the Knicks homecourt. With NY coming home with a 2-0 lead that arena is going to be rocking.

Realistically they should be 2 and 0
Or at the very least 1 and 1
I'm telling you I haven't watched a ton of Celtics let alone NBA but game 2 was almost an anomaly, the amount of missed easy 2's were other worldly, and with all that including how terrible they played they only lost by 1 point.
I strongly believe the Celts will regroup and win the series.
That was a good bounceback win for the Cavs. Garland getting in foul trouble was also sort of a blessing in disguise where he didn't need to play 35-40mins on that toe.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who's going to be named MVP at some point next week, goes into the 4th quarter last night with his team up 3 and proceeds to shoot 1-8 (3pts) in the 4th while not taking a single shot in OT in a loss. In 45mins of play he scored just 18pts and his team is now down 1-2 in the series with G4 in Denver.
Lucky for SGA that he doesn't play in Boston where idiots would be calling him lazy and attacking his character right now. 😎

what was going on with him, especially in OT?
Denver had the same gameplan for defending SGA late in this game as NY had with Tatum, once they got inside the three point line send a wall of defenders at him and force your offense into having someone else beat them. SGA could have forced up low percentage shots in that OT and had the result been the same he'd just gets lambasted for playing hero ball.
I'll post a short YT clip of overtime below and you can see in every single SGA possession in OT he got walled off by defenders, minus one where he had a lone defender and tried backing down Christain Braun around the foul line and ultimately fell backwards turning the ball over. (that's at the 5:30 mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCHI0b5-Dkg
Everyone just wants to see these star players go into MJ mode late in games but smart head coaches just don't let that happen anymore and the ones that do usually spend all offseason rueing that decision in hindsight.
i only watched the first minute of that clip (will watch the rest later), and the bottom line is that he has to make one of those final two shots in regulation. they didn't double up on him and he had two good looks inside the arc..........he just did make either of them.
Not every field goal attempt is going to go in, the game just doesn't work like that even though we as fans want & expect it to. Those two misses last night might be makes in the same situation tomorrow night or he goes 1 of 2 the night after that. We all know how percentages work and not every player is going to repeatedly Be Like Mike in these situations.

So is it no "Playoff Experience" for OKC? Can't handle pressure? No pressure in the regular season..........
The simplest answer, bad shooting.
G1: 34% (15-43) from three & 20-28 from the line in a 2pt loss
G2: 44% (16-36) from three & 33-36 from the FT line in a 43pt win
G3: 25% (9-35) from three & 15-22 from the FT line in a 9pt loss in OT

with all of these wild swings in games and incredible choke jobs, I can't help but think back to the days of Jordan.

Absolutely. And would Jordan sit with a sprained toe or a sore thumb?

WOW! Now Boston is down 0-2. Crazy!

and then Boston turns around in game 2 and blows a 16-point lead in the 4th
unreal lol
edit: from the 8:40 mark in the 4th when they were up 16, the Celtics jacked up 7 3s and missed all of them. in game 1 they created the blueprint on how to give a game away, and they stuck to it in G2
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
At least OKC isn't going to have to worry about a comeback loss tonight.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
I ask you, how did the Celtics know I put them in my parlay? 😆
With all of the tax implications currently hanging over their salary cap and a new owner coming in, who knows what this roster will look like 5 months from now when training camp starts back up.

you would think boston would have learned from game one how to protect a 20 point lead.
lazy, choking team. glad they lost. they did not deserve to win.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
hate to belabor this point, but it's so confounding to me. i'll just never understanding why Boston chooses to live and die by the 3 when they have two of the best scorers in the league. when you have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on your roster and you shoot the fewest free throws in the league and have the third fewest layups (look it up if you don't believe me), the coach needs to be fired. it's inexcusable. and when you blow a 20-point lead in a home playoff game after doing it two nights ago, he should've been fired before he left the court. dude the only way you're going to vomit all over yourself in a situation like that is if you routinely launch shots that have a 1-in-3 (at the very best with the way they were shooting) chance of going in. here's a novel idea: when you're up 20, use your assets to create a higher-percentage shot. move closer to the basket. if they don't get a clean look, they'll dish to someone who does. they have that ability. all of a sudden, that 1-in-3 improves and that 20-point lead becomes almost insurmountable.
and it's the reason why a guy like Tatum will never roll off anyone's tongue when it comes time to discussing the very best players in the association. there's zero killer instinct. the guy averages 27 points per game and wilts like a flower when his team needs him most. he just allowed a lesser team come into his house and make two 20-points leads evaporate in front of his eyes. at what point do you say i'm the best player on the floor, so give me the f*****g ball because i'm not going to allow the improbable to happen? seriously, when will he remember how good he is and take over like a true superstar would? hence me mentioning Jordan up above. never, ever would that happen. not even once. can you imagine twice in consecutive games? lol
i'm not a Boston backer and i did not have a cent on last night's game. i'm just a lukewarm NBA fan who becomes increasingly more interested come playoffs time, thus when i see pop tarts happen that shouldn't it really grinds my gears. imagine if i was actually a Celtics fan? lol i would be so effing pissed right now. pissed at Brown, pissed at Tatum, and i'd want to use a bow and arrow on the coach.
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
@erikthredd
naturally i haven't mentioned MJ with the expectations of Tatum becoming him. but being one of the league's best scorers and the best player on one of the best teams, it sure wouldn't hurt to try and emulate him. to Craig's point, Tatum & Brown sound like they just finished a spa treatment after two soul-crushing playoff losses at home. Michael Jordan probably would have found Steve Kerr and punched him again. i don't see any fire. i don't see any killer instinct. when the wheels start to come off, i don't see a 27 ppg scorer trying to will his team to victory. i see situational unawareness at its finest. it's an unwarranted launchfest from downtown. no one will convince me that the 2 and the 0 in this series would not be transposed if Tatum, Brown & Co. had bypassed even a fraction of the seventy-five threes they have missed in the first two games.
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

Minnesota in Game 2 today.
never seen the jam. does it touch on shot selection while nurturing huge leads in important playoff games?
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"

Minnesota has done a great job walling off Hield every time he touches the ball out beyond the arc. He’s made 3/7 but this was one of those games where you’d want to see him put up 10 to 15 of them with no Steph.

( I hope )
Apparently the Celtics coaching staff are trying out new methods to improve their shooting accuracy…

GO Celts!!!
I think Tatum has a good game today, 31 points I predict and Celts win 🍀
i didn't see the game, but he definitely deserves to be feeling extreme heat today based on what you said
what was going on with him, especially in OT?
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Denver had the same gameplan for defending SGA late in this game as NY had with Tatum, once they got inside the three point line send a wall of defenders at him and force your offense into having someone else beat them. SGA could have forced up low percentage shots in that OT and had the result been the same he'd just gets lambasted for playing hero ball.
I'll post a short YT clip of overtime below and you can see in every single SGA possession in OT he got walled off by defenders, minus one where he had a lone defender and tried backing down Christain Braun around the foul line and ultimately fell backwards turning the ball over. (that's at the 5:30 mark)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCHI0b5-Dkg
Everyone just wants to see these star players go into MJ mode late in games but smart head coaches just don't let that happen anymore and the ones that do usually spend all offseason rueing that decision in hindsight.

i only watched the first minute of that clip (will watch the rest later), and the bottom line is that he has to make one of those final two shots in regulation. they didn't double up on him and he had two good looks inside the arc..........he just did make either of them.
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Not every field goal attempt is going to go in, the game just doesn't work like that even though we as fans want & expect it to. Those two misses last night might be makes in the same situation tomorrow night or he goes 1 of 2 the night after that. We all know how percentages work and not every player is going to repeatedly Be Like Mike in these situations.

G1: 34% (15-43) from three & 20-28 from the line in a 2pt loss
G2: 44% (16-36) from three & 33-36 from the FT line in a 43pt win
G3: 25% (9-35) from three & 15-22 from the FT line in a 9pt loss in OT
