Picked this up a couple of weeks ago for my type set finally took a few cell phone photos of it. ANACS photo certificate from 1986

Looks like a an original VF (30?) to me.
And it has a nice even strike on both sides.

Unless the photography is very inaccurate, it's too dark for my enjoyment.

It’s a fine line between dark toning and ED.
Going by the picture, this coin sits right on that line.

As a photo gambler on eBay, I'd definitely bite on these pics. Thus, I think straight grade VF30.

Here is the cert. They graded it VF20/20 in the 80's. The coin was graded 39 years ago yesterday.
I think the original photo makes it look too dark for my liking, while the image of it next to the ANACS cert is much more attractive.

I liked the coin when I first saw it posted yesterday. I thought it would be a 25 shot 30 coin, and I think the color and surfaces are probably very nice in hand even if the original image you posted seems a little dark.

Good question. That was the seller's photo. I tried capturing the look of the coin on my cell phone and failed.
Sorry, but I am not a fan. I have owned these "two toned" early silver coins in the past, and have ended up selling them.
Here's the type coin in my set. Some people won't like it because it's probably been dipped. If it was it was done right. I have owned this piece for over 50 years, and it has never gotten any more toning. The piece has a lot of luster. It's graded AU-58. I bought this in New York City at a Paramount Auction in the mid 1970s.
Here are some more desirable looks for old circulated silver. "Medium grey" is one of the most desirable colors among seasoned collectors.
The 1795 has the perfect look to me…

VF25... just high enough to have complete contrast between devices and fields, but just low enough to get all the grime from circulation. I like it just the way it is.
