Today there was about $2.00 in mostly modern US change.
There was a British 5 new pence 2000, a Canada 25 cents 1974, and a prize coin, a US quarter 1964-D.
I'm not saying that there is a connection here, but on my way to give blood made a CS check at the usual spots, Safeway nothing, Nob Hill nothing, Mexican store a 1962-D quarter and clad dime... Quarters are always special!!
I have the significant other trained to check the Coinstar and today as we approached it in the grocery store, before I even had a chance to remind her to check she was leaning over to fish this out of the reject slot:
A few days ago I found one coin in the local Safeway Coinstar machine, an Australia 1982 5 cent coin.
The same day I received from their change machine a 1956 US cent.
The coin machine at the credit union coughed up this little pile of mostly foreign coins. The three euros are money in the bank for s future trip to Europe.
There was also a neat Alcoholics Anonymous token. I sure hope the former owner didn't need it.

I just left Albertsons.
The coin star reject was loaded
Half a pocket full of change and multiple digs to get the coins out.
The mega millions is up to 670 million dollars, so I invested $4 and when I get home I'll take a picture of what's left Hold for pictures...
I found a handful this week at Walmart. Nothing special one clad quarter, the rest was nickels and pennies. 89 cents total. The hunt for silver continues.
Finally something in my local coin star. At first glance I thought I had silver but no go. It has been months since I have seen anything except a few grounders.
29¢ today. I see that the holiday cash is working its magic again, lots of finds recently.

$1.53 today on a quick run to the grocery store that set me back $165!
Unfortunately, no silver and the coins were pretty mucked up. Gonna need acetone just to separate some of them. 🤮

That's a good wife!! Congrats on the silver!
Always nice to find a dollar, but no silver...
If you can't find a silver dime then $1.55 in modern coins is a nice consolation prize.
