    Hi Sean, I'm missing something. Where's the third clip? Is it under the last letters of CENTS?

    My guess as well, under NTS. More obvious looking at obverse to right of top clip.

    Correct, adjacent to the larger clip at K-11 on the obverse. It doesn't line up to be Blakesley from the other clip, rather it is a third rim clip.

    I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

    Here a foreign coin. I think it's Brazilian. Not sure how common it is. I don't know the Obv. from the Rev.

    Thanks @JBK I found it in a customer wrapped dime roll. I find "A LOT" of foreign coin these days in rolls!! 😡 🤬 They must be walking on over the border!

    1970-S. I think it's a double clip. Not easy getting the light reflection and focus correct.

    A "disc clip coin," also commonly referred to as a "clipped planchet" coin, is a coin error that occurs when a portion of the metal blank (planchet) is missing from the edge of the coin, making it appear as if a piece has been "clipped" off, usually due to a manufacturing issue during the coin-making process where the planchet strip wasn't fed properly into the blanking press.

    That description above is a simple plain explanation of a common “incomplete Planchet”
    A disc clip, to me at least, is a very very small clip that is barely seen – may be affecting the rim and that’s about it

    Fred, I do not recall ever seeing the term "disc clip" used. On this coin I would just have said "Rim clip," perhaps with an adjective such as "minor."

    I can’t remember where or when I first heard the term “disc clip” but it’s been at least a few decades.
    I’ll have to check Arnie‘s Error encyclopedia to see if he uses the term there.

    Also possible that Blakesley used that term, but I’m not certain of that at all.
