Random picture thread for Friday

Pixelcuts, the app I like to use to make virtual coin albums and coin backgrounds with is actually an app with several features designed for people to set up online stores. Graphic designer stuff for making pages to display merchandise. Well, they just added a Brand Logo maker feature. So, just for fun I used it to design a logo for Mr. Spud’s Vintage Coin Album and Classic U.S. Coin store. Some of them came out interesting. Here’s a few I thought would actually have potential. What do you think?

My dad served on a PT Boat during WWII. I always like watching movie with these PT Boats in them.

Although it stands as the world's largest spherical building with its height of 366 feet and width of 516 feet, the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas is also famed for having the largest LED TV screen in the world as it coats the globe with 580,000 square feet of LED lights in 16K by 16 K resolution.

At a cost of 2.3 billion dollars it took 5 years to construct on the Sands property adjacent to the Venetian. MSG stands for Madison Square Garden given its ties to the New York locale of said name. Ironically while the last GOP event of the recent election was being held in the New York MSG, the Democrats cornered the Las Vegas's MSG for their final promotion as evident in the linked video below. Reportedly the advertising cost was $900,000.00 and as such has become a news item of its own.

FWIW the second largest spherical building is the Avicli Arena in Stockholm at 362 feet in diameter followed by the Kazakhstan Pavilion at 262 feet in diameter which, unlike the two largest which have spheres less than 80%, actually is the largest containing 100% sphere. The Spaceship Earth at EPCOT in Florida ranks as the 6th largest sphere building at 165 feet in diameter. It is the third largest containing 100% sphere.

Historically the Montreal Biosphere built for the 1967 World's Fair is arguable the most significant sphere building having been designed by Buckminister Fuller who pioneered the concept of spherical buildings with his innovative Geodesic Domes. Today it stands as the fourth largest sphere building at 249 feet in diameter while the fifth largest is the Perisphere from a New York World's Fair at 180 foot diameter and 100% sphere.

Finally, while still on the subject of spheres, here is another type of sphere which was put to use as a motorcycle racing track as I captured it in video while more recently visiting Beijing China. The video depicts four daredevil motorcyclists chasing each other at high speed just feet apart from each other:
