As I stepped out of my house here in Alaska I was greeted by a loud clatter and it wasn’t Santa up on the rooftop with a ladder.
Instead a massive flock of loudly warbling Sandhill Cranes circled overhead.

Tonight’s visit to our house brought back fond memories of Caroling youth who came by my Grandmother’s house in Arizona decades ago when I and my college roommates paid a December visit there as we drove from Illinois to California over Winter Break.

experience a rare and unforgettable ride! This Friday, December 6th, our steam crew will run #9 from South Woodstown to Mannington, turn the locomotive on the wye, and return to South Woodstown—and we’ve got something special in store.
We’re adding our 1937 Reading caboose to the train and inviting a limited number of passengers to join this exclusive journey. Only 16 tickets are available.
The Portland Cello Project Came to Town for this evening's Christmas Concert and local high school student musicians were invited to join in with the adult performers:
And the audience members were invited to wear "Ugly Sweaters" with this duo winning the competition:
A special treat was getting to hear a beautiful rendition of "Silent Night" sung by Ashley Young, a native Alaskan, as it had been translated into her Native language:
The Cello Project's saxophone player, Adrian Crutchfield, was the last to perform with Prince:
