It is fitting that on this Veterans' Day mountains of the Aleutian Arc should become magnified and manifest themselves - as it was in the Arc's Aleutian Islands of Kiska and Attu that United States Veterans engaged in the only battles of World War II on North American land during that conflict.
As captured today in the below linked video, unique atmospheric conditions magnify the distant Tordrillo Mountains of the Alaska Range creating a wall of ice mountains extending all the way from Anchorage Alaska’s International Airport’s departure runway over Point Woronzof to Mount Susitna.
Included Volcano Mount Spurr and adjacent Crater Peak, at over 11,000 feet, loom highest of all in this video taken on today's Veterans’ Day from the Anchorage shores of Cook Inlet some 80 miles distant from the wall of ice mountains.

On this crisp mid November morning as filmed yesterday the winter sun is seen casting a golden glow over the peaks of Alaska’s Chugach Range as captured from my Anchorage home.
In this video one experiences a panoramic view of the mountains as the camera pans across the expansive Chugach Mountain Range that defines Anchorage Alaska’s eastern edge.
A Blazing Sky emanating from the Morning Sun’s emergence contrasts with the snow capped mountain peaks of the Chugach Mountains which border Anchorage Alaska. This video was filmed concurrently with the above linked video from a higher vantage point.
This video also captures a surreal sunrise scene enhanced by silhouetted Spruce Trees.

In the below linked YouTube Video, today's first frosted trees of the season emerge as an ice fog has lifted along the shores of Anchorage Alaska’s Cook Inlet creating a Winter Wonderland.
A snow covered Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge extending out to the inlet’s waters, along with the snow covered distant Kenai Peninsula mountains, enhance the scenic view of a Winter Wonderland as captured here in the below linked video.
