Here is my best looking completed set, this time in a capital plastics holder.
Here are a couple of "short sets" from the World War II era.
The cents in a Wyte Raymond holder.
The War Nickels
The Mercury Dimes
I am now working on a short set of Walking Liberty Half Dollars in a Dansco page. It's 20 coins, but since they need to be raw, it might take a while to find them.
Here is my boyhood set of Lincoln Cents. I didn't finish it until I was 34 when I bought a 1909-S-VDB in with ANACS papers. The 1909-S-VDB was in this album for while. Now it's in a slab.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I didn't post pics because the album isn't complete, but I do the same thing in my 7070. For example, it seemed like a sin not to have the arrows & rays quarter and half with the reverse up.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

Totally agree! No rush completing that album, take your time.
Sorry for the lousy pics, hard to shoot thru plastic. Last coin in second row is 16/16, last coin in third row is 18/7-D, reversed coins in third photo are 1930 5leg, 35 DDR, 3-legger and 38 D/D/D/S. Completed but always on the lookout for upgrades
Proud recipient of the coveted "You Suck Award" (9/3/10).

Theses are beautiful!
I'm nervous about cracking out some Peace dollars that I bought already in slabs. I need them for my set, and would love to have them in my album. But I have not yet gotten up the nerve to break them out. They are not high grade/value (most are AU, some even AU details), so I really should just do it...
Here is an album that is not filled totally by just about anyone! My album is complete-The coins missing are in slabs-1877 twenty cent, All three cent silvers from 1862-1873 are in slabs, the 1878 shield nickel is in a slab. The 3 cent silvers in business strike dates from 1863-1872 are rarer then most think. Most of them were melted.I don't know where the 1876 three cent nickel is, but t is here somewhere. It took me about 50 years to find all the right coins for this album. I got a lot of these before slabs became a big deal. I will be selling all of these in the near future.
Good luck if you try this venture. Filling this album with just the right coins is a real challenge. It takes a long time.
I started a Wayte Raymond two volume set of Large Cents that will never be complete... and I'm still a couple of coins shy of completing Buffalo Nickels, Lincoln Cents, and Indian Heads
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;

Not the best pics but you get the idea.

Now you're talken'!
I only wanted a 46 to 64 album but couldn't find one. This album went to 2005, so I fulled it.
Here is my 2012 S - 2021 S, 2019 W - 2020 W mint mark album.

I had to add a page for the 4-ray '35s

None of my albums are truly put to bed, I may upgrade if I see a coin that merits it.
My current registry sets:

Virtual DANSCO 7070
Slabbed IHC set - Missing the Anacs Slabbed coins
Here is the last one I upgraded.

Completed sets, yes, put to bed...maybe not!

@ARCO What was the average grade of those beautiful Barbers when you sent them in to PCGS?
Later, Paul.
Thanks Stooge. It started as a VF-XF set. The VFs were VF30-35 and the majority were XF and some AU coins. Probably around XF40 was the average.

I can't remember where I found this holder but I had fun filling in the holes.

Did any of your coins give you a problem going into those holes?
I never posted my Canadian set.

Not really but the 3c silver, bust half dime and bust dime are a little loose in the holes.

These beautiful albums remind of the excitement of collecting as a kid. Sometimes I feel like a dope for playing the “slab game”.
