Is this worth anything?

-Ive scoured the internet looking for someone else that has this type of penny. This 2000 penny sticks to a strong magnet, and it weighs more than a normal zinc penny which should rule out someone stripping the copper with some sort of chemicals. It shouldn’t weigh heavy if it’s been stripped, and no Pennie’s should be able to stick to a magnet other than the 1943. I also wondered about it possibly being coated in steel, but the finish on the coin after looking under a microscope is so flawless on all the edges and both sides that I would be surprised if someone really pulled that off. Thank you all for your time and input on this! Also, my scale has been re-calibrated to ensure accuracy and every zinc penny is perfectly 2.50grams exactly, all of them but this one which is slightly overweight

Chrome plated, not steel. Chrome is magnetic. Chemical plating is very easy. No value, sorry.

Looks plated with something that is magnetic. Perhaps cobalt or nickel.

Wow thank you guys, I never knew people did this to U.S coinage. I appreciate the response, now I know! I’ve never seen anything like this either, have yall come across this in either your change, or roll hunting? I have gone through 4 boxes of Pennie’s and never seen this penny in any box. Found in an old bucket of loose change

The chrome plating companies years ago used copper cents to test the plating process.
How the Typical chrome plating is done:
The metal part usually steel is copper plated, then nickel plated, then chrome plated.
When testing a vat the workers would start with a copper cent...it's was a cheap test.

you'll find various adultered coins out there. i've got a half with two heads sides joined together that i pulled from a box of half dollars.

Also, if your 2000p cent had the reverse "AMERICA" with the "AM, in AMERICA" Separated. Ala
A MERICA.
It then would of been a variety coin. Worth more than just 1c!
It's called, the 2000 AM variety.
Also on the 1998 and 1999 cent!
