The owner of an ex-Bass Pan Pac $50 octagonal allowed me to hold and photograph it at a show last spring. I'll refrain from posting my pics for various reasons, but I cannot think of a coin I've ever beheld in person that made a more powerful impression on me than that one.

I recall cruising through the bourse at Baltimore going up and down the aisles when I stopped dead in my tracks at a presentation case full of DCAM Barber halves... I think it might have been DLRCs table... no pictures, just a mental image of about 6 amazing examples...

I think Barber halves are just about the best looking silver proofs around. I don't see too many unattractive ones.

I think @Floridafacelifter's coins (posted above) are the most beautiful I've ever seen.

Amazingly that Flying Eagle Cent (a few windows above) is only graded MS64. Best looking MS64 i've seen in a long time. Guide is 2150, but I bet it sold for much higher.

If you wanted one look on all your 20th century type coins this would be it. Used to be owned by a good friend of mine, and it's the most attractive Roosevelt Dime in existence (MS68+).

It's always important to remember that "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." I have no problem with you loving this coin, but it's not accurate to assume the everyone else loves this coin. :)

What's not to love about this coin? It's a MS68+ Top Pop 4/0 that exhibits some of the most spectacular toning on any Roosevelt Dime. I understand where you are coming from on "Beauty is the eye in the beholder" but in this case this is the type of coin that is universally seen as amazing.
