Seeing as my other threads were doing well pertaining to early halves, I figured I'd make one for everyone to post their favorites. Thanks for all the support, also I will be attending the ANA in March if anyone would like to meet up and look at coins and chat I am happy to do so! Here are some of my favorite selections from my box of 100.

I don't know if you consider 1861 "early," but this is the only half dollar I have earlier than 1916, so here it is. Besides, it has such a cool history!

Okay, I’ve nothing as early as the handsome @Nysoto 1794.
1836-1837 is my favorite coin era, as it ushered in the Sully/Gobrecht design transition that brought our silver coinage into the Seated Liberty era.
But this example, one of the last of the lettered-edge busties, is my favorite half dollar specimen from that era.
It’s an O-116a struck very soon after the (well-worn) dies were lapped. On no evidence whatsoever except its obvious prooflike surfaces, I imagine that this was an early trial strike off the reworked dies.

You certainly don’t! The other PCGS LE 1836 PL half dollar is from different dies.
I first saw this one a few years ago while innocently viewing lots at a Heritage sale.
It jumped out of the box, spit in my eye, and demanded I take it home.30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
