This is in an older holder. The scratch visible on the reverse is on the plastic, not the coin.

Care to take a stab at the grade?

    Well, the MyCollect Guess the Grade game has taught me that everything I thought I knew about coins with visible rub is wrong >50% of the time. Having said that, I'm still going with my gut and saying AU58 RB.

    I would say questionable color UNC details but I could see it in a 64 BN holder. 63 if the eye appeal is worse from the staining when not flooded with light being what it is date wise. Very nice center piece key date with very good luster for the date

    I feel it is in a 63RB holder, but would not want it for above a 58 price. Sorry, that's just how I feel regarding key coins. It does appear to have rub in several places. JMO

    NO way that is MS. I am thinking AU55 at best AU58

    It probably in at least an MS-62, R&B holder. It has more original surfaces that most of the partially red pieces you are likely to see. It top grade would be MS-63, R&B.

    58, worst case 55. I see enough rub to keep it from MS. But what do I know. it's not a Seated Dollar :)

    Strong strike. Full, but subdued luster. Good eye appeal. But for the darker areas on the high points it's all there . ANACS 62?

    I'm seeing AU58, the breaks in luster on the ribbon and over the ear and eye I'm attributing to light wear... that said, I've seen worse in MS holders...

    I believe it is MS65 R&B.
    I don't know copper buy that's a decent coin. I don't see it as AU at all.

    Please grade my coins! LOL....Well, I tend to fall into the majority with an MS 62RB crowd - a bit of soft strike in the ribbon but there does appear the slightest rub at the ribbon and possibly on neck.
    One area that I like to look at is the rim and denticles - these are fairly well struck without rub or other "action"..

    surprised no one has else noted the pinkish and green hues alluding to a copper lightening in its past. While still a hell of a 77 that is worth strait grade money at the right level, those have been fooled with for a long time and I don’t think a 1905 gets the same benefit of the doubt.
