    XF40

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

VF-35. Could see it as XF40 also.

    35 was my first thought

30 as well, seems like PCGS is pretty conservative on these

The obverse looks 40 ish to me, but the reverse details seem more like 45+, so I would be EF unless I saw it in hand.

It’s a very nice example of the Browning 2 variety, which is one of the scarcer 1821 die marriages! Thanks for sharing your quarter.

Wonderful coin and these are so hard to find in this state of preservation. I would likely grade it higher than out Host- I suspect our host is likely at 30 possibly 35. It is clearly a very high end VF with a reasonable shot at 40. The obverse has a pattern of wear that makes a 40 a tough call- but with the larger Bust Quarters, this is simply how they come. I like it. This also illustrates how challenging the early dates are to find in a nice circulated grade-

    congrats- well played

    40 crowd, but nice regardless.

I'm right where everyone else is, in the 35-40 range. The reverse appears to have less wear than the obverse, but this isn't unusual.

My first reaction was VF30, but the coin has nice eye appeal and is free of distracting marks. Let's call it VF35.

    XF-40 works for me!

I will guess PCGS said VF-25.

Who cares what the number is, just look at those surfaces! PERFECT!!!

Anyone grading this less than a 30 needs to sell me their bust quarters. 😉

I’m solidly in the 35 shot 40 camp.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Beautiful. I just started collecting these. Wish I started a long time ago but now that I know what I like, no better time than the present.

    Congrats.

    Very nice coin.

Oh wow, awesome. I’d have said 35, but who cares what I say….. it’s beautiful!

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
