PCGS In-slab Trueviews

Since it's rare to find Eisenhower dollars with Trueview images, and I recently became aware that PCGS can do in-slab images, I am seriously considering sending all my Ike dollars to PCGS for Trueviews. In fact, I cannot find a single proof Ike in PF69DCAM that has a Trueview image.
My question is; Has anyone send a group of coins in for the in-slab images? If so, what is the turn around time, and is it just a straight 5 bucks plus shipping fees to have it done? If so, that seems more than reasonable. Thanks in advance for any input.

I sent a few coins in at one time several years ago as a test case for pieces that were difficult to image through plastic, but that should stay in their OGHs. I don't recall the fee for it, but you have to clean the slab surfaces yourself as at that time they would not buff out or otherwise minimize any marks on the holders.

Here is another recent thread about in-slab True Views: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1089534/trueview-images-submission#latest
Yes sir, that is exactly how I became aware of this service.
My real question here is - what is the turn around time?

I dropped these five off at the FUN show 1/13 and had them back 2/10

I just asked about this and they said you have to do a reholder.
That’s what I was told as well when I called the phone number and asked. Then Phil here on the board said just mark the submission form clearly
“TrueViews in the slab only”
“Do not crack out”
And you’ll be charged the nominal fee plus shipping back to you depending on the value. Turnaround was a month back in January.
Here’s my bill- $5 each plus $130.45 S&H
My only disappointment is the photos picked up some scratches on the Morgan plastic slab that aren’t on the coin. Guess they don’t apply anything to the slab surface or clean it before photographing. Perhaps I should have applied some of that magic slab oil some people talk about to negate the scratches but they are harder to see in hand than in the TVs.
Thank you all for your replies and great info!

Seems like an excellent option. If I were to do this, I would definitely make sure the slab surface was clear of scratches or dirt before submitting. Cheers, RickO
What is the magic slab oil? I wonder if it's like what some jewellers apply to certain gemstones.
I've seen a couple of coin dealers on eBay supplying letter grades for the slabs their coins are in. I actually find it helpful.
Example: "an MS64 coin and I'd give the slab itself an A- for a couple of minor abrasions on the reverse."
Uh oh, where might this lead? A grading service for slab condition. Secondary certs or stickers.... I'll stop here.
I sometimes use this stuff if I have a scratched slab. It works the same as car headlights (which it's intended for), but it only takes 5-10 minutes and the slab looks brand new. I will try to find one at a later date to demonstrate.

I am strongly looking into doing this, and contacted PCGS last week. I want ~50 PCGS slabs photographed but NOT re-slabbed. Thanks for the thread and info. I was wondering if coins shot through-slab with TrueViews would still show up on PCGS Cert Verify / CoinFacts and based the above post from @Floridafacelifter they do! I had an email out to customer service, but this thread answered my last remaining question.
If you guys want to go ahead and laugh at me, I also asked Customer Service if they would do this for my NGC coins, and they politely declined.
