****This recently came back from PCGS…. Take your best shots!

Nobody came close…. MS68. In-hand the coin looks amazing…. No so much in the phone pics. This was originally housed in an NGC MS67+ CAC holder.

Thanks for playing-

Funny how that works…. Yet it is indeed the same coin.

Some history on the coin…. and a minor hint. It was formerly housed in a circa 2011 NGC holder and was CAC’d. It recently crossed to its current PCGS holder and may have received a slight bump. 🤔😏

The pics that were here before are gone now. Definitely didn't look 67 or 68 in those pics.

I think surf was just saying that your photos gave the coin a hazy look and made it look lower in grade than it turned out to be.

Congrats on the upgrade, funny thing is that everyone here seems to think that NGC always overgrades, hmmm. ;)

Too many small issue can be hiding from view to judge a 68 from a picture. You’re seeing the coin from one angle which seriously limits your ability to see small imperfections that would knock a coin down from 68 to 67 or 67 to 66.

    Well then...
I am officially off my streak of GTG and am fired from future GTG's.
With the pictures that were on here before I saw a 66 at best.
    68, didn't see that coming.
    Nice results though.

    Congratulations on the 68.
Sure did not look like on from the images I saw. That's not to take away from a beautiful coin. I'm sure in hand it's gorgeous!

And to think, this was once graded 64 by our hosts...
Kinda decent $ difference to the OP coin.

Reminds me of a post about an NGC MS68+ where nearly all comments were negative and claiming "NGC got it wrong".

Funny how fast that changes when the plastic is different.

I would have guessed 66 for what it's worth.

Clearly that is sooooo much nicer than a 64! Was it in an OGH or Rattler….?

PCGS bias and the idea that only NGC can overgrade a coin is a tired narrative.

I think NGC had it right. Using common sense technical grading, to me it’s a solid 67.

So if I read this correctly this one coin has had multiple "grades" ranging from 64 to 68 over the years?

Sorta my thought when you say the same coin has ranged from a 64 to a 68, seems like the graders were the ones who ‘had no idea what they were trying to do here.’

But I guess congrats? Is there a yellow bean that has a -1 inside? Maybe the first use will be here? Just kidding, but can’t use any of this to foster my grading education. We throw this out as a statistical outlier in that respect🤣

My coin never graded anything less than an NGC 67+ CAC.
