@OAKSTAR said: @Meltdown - Man, I really like your 7070! I can see the effort you put into it.
I did the same thing you did... I display many of the reverses on the front of the pages as well.
Thanks. A few of those have been swapped out and "upgraded". Those photos are a couple years old now. I think that's why I decided it's my core collection contribution. It's been the one constant so to speak in my ever changing collection tastes.
I thought the same thing and was conflicted with my type set as being the core of my collection. I put years into completing the 7070 the way I liked it and have upgraded along the way. As of a few years ago, it's been put to bed.
Building a collection around a certain theme and staying focused is not easy (for me) in this hobby. It's just to damn easy to get sidetracked!

Peace dollar fan here, have most of them in 64 or above and this one really sticks out. Most S dates were not great strikes but they did some great ones in 35 if you look around! Love the thread - thank you

So, I’m only showing one coin, that I just picked up a couple days ago. Not my highest graded coin (pXF-45 CAC) , but when I lay all my coins side by side, this is the ‘core’ of the core, to me!😉
@HillbillyCollector
Wow, that is an amazing very rare double eagle with great toning and very few significant hits or marks. The 1855-O $20 is a low mintage date (only 8,000 minted) sandwiched between two ultra-rarities. Congrats on THAT coin!

I collect early American coins, primarily colonial and early cents, as well as capped bust dimes.
I love seeing them all raw like that. Very cool.

I love your collection. Maybe some day I’ll be in your league
My collection is kind of all over the place, but I really like the earlier bust coinage. Pretty much anything struck on a screw press.
Lincoln Cents Toned Basic Set, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958). I have two sets, one ranked #4 and one much further down.
