Dansco Early Dollars

I have to imagine this would be an extremely difficult set to come even near completion. Hundreds of these albums probably sold throughout the years. I wonder if any were completed?

Considering that album-toned early dollars turn up fairly regularly someone was certainly using them. Can't imagine any 1794s ending up in one though.

You could complete one pretty easily.....with the help from China
(not even joking on that....they do almost all of them there...just wouldn't be legit ones)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I have completed 1795-1803. Just going to have to go without the 1794. But I think I will leave them in the slabs. :)

I depends upon which holes they put in the album. I have a date set from 1795 to 1803 plus the off-center and centered 1795 Draped Bust and the large and small eagle 1798 pieces. I will never get a 1794 given the prices at this point. I might have had a chance 10+ years ago, but it's over now.

Slabs is another thing. I would discourage most collectors from buying these coins raw because of the Chinese connection. Once you buy the certified coins, there are lots of downsides to cracking them out to go into an album.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

That would be a lovely set of coins to display. And yes, the 1794 would be an expensive hole to fill. Cheers, RickO
