Obverse Mintmark Walking Liberty Half

Always wanted an obverse mintmark WLH for my type set. I assumed it would be a 1916-s because I usually target MS coins, but I couldn't pass on this 1917-s. Tell me what you think and show off your obverse mintmark WHL. I know there must be some good ones out there!

Didn't bother with a GTG, it would have been too easy.

    I love the color on that coin! It's a tough one for me to grade, I want to say 58 CAC.

    I have a 1917 Philly half, but I can't tell whether it's no mintmark on obverse or no mintmark on reverse!

    @scotty4449 very nice example! I’ve been looking for a 16-S and 17-S in XF-AU and they are tough to find nice.

    I recently saw this 58 CAC in a dealer’s inventory (you may have seen it as well). I wanted to make an offer but it sold before I reached out to the dealer.

    And on the opposite end of the grading spectrum, here’s one that I bought raw and have on consignment to GC (VG10 CAC).

    Thanks @ricko. This one dealer is used to frequent quite often, never pulled the good stuff out of her bulk bins. I found some amazing coins over the years.

    Thanks! I saw it online and contacted the seller directly. This was back 10 or 11 years ago, when they were selling for $11-15K, at the Major Auction Houses. Through my negotiation skills and because of an excellent seller; I got it for much less. What really grabbed me was the STRIKE. It's needle-sharp. You just don't see that on this issue, unless it's a gem. But, you are correct. The fields are also quite smooth. These pictures don't nearly do it justice. It was one of those coins that you know, right away, that you must act or you will regret it, forever. If I had the nerve; I'd crack it out and resubmit it but, I'm just not that bold of a risk-taker. :/ Definitely a reconsideration candidate, though.
